Warnings: does Alois being himself warrant a warning?

Tears Never Moved A Mountain

"Don't cry."

Though it comes from Claude, it is nothing but an order. Claude is here. Darkness has receded to the farthest corners of the room. The shadows have fled. The demons crawl around no longer. There is only one left. Alois has nothing to fear, but the tears won't stop, not yet. Claude sits down on the bed and the boy all but throws himself at his demonic butler.

"It was back. It was all back," the boy mutters incoherently. He doesn't care that he's soiling Claude's clothes with his tears and snot; he only knows that Claude is here and that he can make the darkness flee and the ghosts and monsters – crawl back into their deep holes. "Luka… So dark!"

Claude somehow manages to both hold the boy in his arms and adjust his glasses. He is used to this. At least once a week his little master wakes up from his own personal hell and each time he summons the demon, as if he doesn't believe in the binding qualities of their contract. But the contract is absolute.

"Don't cry."

But Alois cries. He lifts teary eyes up at him, fists tighten in his clothes and he demands a repetition of their contract, a second, a third, a hundredth engraving.

"Don't leave me! Don't leave me, Claude."

Claude draws back a little. Cold golden eyes find watery blue and do not falter while his glowed hand sinks in messy blond hair.

"Yes, your Highness."
