Author's Note: Hello, everyone. I know this is sort of late for Valentine's Day, but nothing can stop the power of love! ;) Sorry, Sailor Moon moment there. I hope you all enjoy this.
Roses Are Red
Frustrated is an understatement. He gets on my nerves to the point I'm not even articulate anymore! Which just brightens his day, oh yes, I can tell from the stupid smirk on his face.
"What's the matter, Granger? Cat got your tongue?"
I grind my teeth, a very unhealthy habit my parents frown upon.
"Bugger off, ferret face."
"If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that very clever."
He's smirking at me still. Oh, how I wish I could reach across the table and slap it right off. Maybe it would land in the restricted section of the library and never be seen again. I grin at that thought.
"A little mental today, are we?"
Ugh, he's still here? I had hoped ignoring him would work.
"What do you want, Malfoy?"
"Oh, nothing," he drops down in the seat across from me.
I sigh, "Can't you sit somewhere else?"
"I actually like this spot; it has a few perks."
I roll my eyes and return to writing my Potions essay, "Whatever, just don't bother me."
After no reply, I glance up to see him staring at me. He grins and I duck my head back down, a slow blush creeping along my neck.
I return to my essay, writing a little quicker than necessary.
A peaceful silence descends back upon the library, and I even forget who is sitting at my table. Finishing up my final paper for the night, I stretch and lean back in my seat. I smile slightly to myself as I realize Malfoy had fallen asleep.
He looked almost charming when he wasn't conscious. I snicker to myself at that assessment. His tousled hair gave him a boyish look that was kept hidden behind well placed sneers and taunts. Quietly, I packed my things away, and then sat in my seat, silently assessing my archenemy.
As I heard the clock chime eight, I decided I had dilly dallied enough and began to make my way out of the library. I had just turned a corner, when I heard someone call out.
"Granger, wait up!"
Turning around, I watched as Malfoy jogged to where I stood.
"Here, you left this."
He handed me my Charms essay. Strange, I thought I had placed it in my bag next to the others.
I blush, "Thanks, I must have overlooked it."
"No problem," he smirked.
We stood there a little awkwardly, before he broke the silence.
"Same time tomorrow, Granger?"
Flabbergasted, I just nod, "Um, sure…"
He grins, then winks at me, "See you around."
I nod again, "See you."
What a strange turn of events… I glance down at the essay he handed to me. Before my eyes, my handwriting turned squiggly and morphed into slanted cursive.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You're hair is bushy
But, Granger, I kind of like you.
I blush and smile. Tomorrow should be interesting.
I hope you guys enjoyed it. Happy late Valentine's Day! :)
