Story #1 – The Unlikely Pair

She tried to hide it for as long as she could...

It pained her more than anything to admit it...

But, eventually, the word would spread.

Risha was in love with Yurino.

She always told herself that it wasn't true. He's an idiot! She'd think to herself, or, There's no way I'd fall for someone like him! But it was all true. She couldn't deny her feelings.

Risha had only come to realize her feelings after chatting with her parents, whom she had always known to feud a lot. Her dad, Youhei, was a complete idiot, exactly like Yurino. She definitely took after her mother, who was cool headed, but always packing a punch.

After hearing their story, she had suddenly realized that she did like having Yurino around. Not only as a punching bag, but also to make her feel warm inside...

And, after telling Nyou, the word somehow began to spread, to which she cursed Nyou under her breath. Eventually, Yurino himself heard, and had decided to see for himself.

Risha was warming up with her volleyball team in the university's gymnasium when Yurino walked in, surprising her.

"Yurino?" she said, signaling the team captain for a break, then running over to him, "W-What are you doing here?" He grinned, and said, "Oh ho ho, you know why I'm here!" Risha blushed at the realization of what he was saying, and he laughed. "So it is true!" he said.

She irritatedly grabbed his shirt and dragged him forward, glaring at him. "Shut up! You...You..." she looked for the words to say...

But then, to her surprise, Yurino put his arms around her in an embrace...

"Hey, I never said I didn't feel the same." he said in a serious tone, which made Risha turn even redder.

"W-What?" she said, shocked. Yurino moved back and grinned at her. "You don't think I took all those punches and kicks because I just felt like it, did you?" he said. Risha looked down, unsure of what to say.

Yurino gently lifted her chin with a hand, and said teasingly, "Hey, you should look at people when they're confessing to you." Risha glared at him, and he expected to be hit again...

But, instead, she quickly leaned forward...And kissed him.

Even Yurino was surprised, and was frozen in place as Risha moved away from him after a few moments, and asked, "C-Can this wait until I'm done with practice?" Yurino nodded, still in shock, and Risha gave him a small wave and returned to the court...

And a smile slowly crept onto her face.

Why did I fall for him? She thought, looking over her shoulder at Yurino, who did a sort of dance, thinking nobody was watching. Risha giggled, and turned back around, setting a hand on her heart.

I guess I know how you feel now, Ushio, she thought, I'm just in love with a big idiot instead.
