Princess Emma and her new husband, Prince Eadric, were on their way to breakfast. They were still in Upper Montivista (much to Emma's dismay), but were supposed to go back to Greater Greensward the next week. As far as she was concerned, they couldn't get there fast enough. She had spent the past two weeks alternating between actively avoiding Frazella or her own mother, or sleeping and eating.
"The sooner we get back to Greensward, the better," she said. "At least there I only have one person to hide from."
"You'll grow on my mother," Eadric assured her. "She just needs time to get used to you. Sometimes I think she's still getting used to me."
Emma laughed, as they entered the Great Hall. "Yeah, but I don't think she'll ever like me. She just doesn't like magic."
"Well, she'll have to learn to live with it, since I love you, no matter what."
Emma smiled. "Aw, I love you, too."
"Get a room," snorted a voice behind them. Garrid had dragged himself out of bed.
Emma nudged him, and said, "Good morning to you, too."
They sat down at the tables for breakfast, and just as they were about to dig in, a page tapped Emma on the shoulder.
"Um, Princess Emeralda?" he said.
"I was told to give you a message. It's from a someone called Prince Jorge… and let me tell you, he did NOT seem happy."
Emma frowned, and Eadric groaned, "NOW what did he want?"
"He said to meet him in the Enchanted Forest at noon."
"Anything else?" asked Emma.
"No… oh wait. I don't know if this is important, but when I asked if there was anything else, he said, 'No, you spam-filled muffin!' and threw a rock at me."
"…spam-filled muffin?" Garrid repeated, speaking for pretty much everyone.
After the page walked away, Emma said, "I think I'd better go. I'll fly. No one will ever know I'm gone."
"I'm coming, too," said Eadric.
"Is that really necessary?" Emma asked. "I can take care of myself."
"What if Jorge tried anything? There is no way you're going on your own."
So, Emma and Eadric climbed up to the tallest tower, and Emma recited the usual spell for becoming a dragon. Eadric (somewhat clumsily) climbed onto her back. Then, they were off, flying towards Greater Greensward. They arrived minutes before noon, and Eadric took out Ferdy.
Jorge arrived, and he was not alone. He had two troll bodyguards. Two troll bodyguards who were both carrying very large clubs.
Remaining a dragon, Emma said, "Hello, Jorge."
"I want to negotiate with you."
"Me marrying the Troll Queen. I want you to help me get out of it."
"No. Have a nice day."
Emma tried to fly off, but Jorge said, "Wait! I have something in return."
"Half the kingdom?"
Eadric rolled his eyes. "All that's in your kingdom is flatlands, dried-up rivers, and sheep."
"Okay, then we'll have to do this the hard way. Grumblesnort, Rottentooth?"
The two security trolls both made grabs for Emma, but the dragon was faster. She flamed, and took to the air. The trolls chased her, but she flew higher and higher.
"You spam-filled muffins!" shouted Jorge.
"Stop saying that!" whined Grumblesnort.
Emma sighed, "Well, that was… eventful."
"Certainly not worth wasting a breakfast for," agreed Eadric.
"See? I could've gone on my own."
"But you wouldn't have. I love you, Emma, and I'll always be there to protect you. Always."
