Will entered the lunch room, made his way to Emma's side and took her hand in his.
"Emma, I can't remember a time when you weren't there by my side. You are my world. You are the love of my life and my dearest friend," Will said taking a small box out of his pocket and opening it. He dropped to one knee and showed it to her. "Emma Pillsbury, will you marry me?".
For once in her life, Emma was speechless. Tears fell silently down he face and she looked at the man she loved more than life itself. Smiling through her tears, she nodded "Yes Will, Yes I will marry you,".
Will wiped her tears away with the tips of his thumbs and slipped the diamond engagement ring on to the third finger of her left hand. When her eyes met his, there was a tenderness there that nearly took his breath away. He leaned in and kissed her, all the love he felt for her clearly evident in that kiss.
"I love you, Emma," He whispered.
Emma smiled and ran her hand across his cheek tenderly " I love you too, Will. More than I ever thought possible,".
"Happy Birthday Em," He smiled as he hugged her.
For Emma it was truly the best birthday she had ever had.
