A Birthday to Remember

There wasn't a huge celebration for Percy's 15th birthday, and he didn't mind. Sometimes it was nice to feel normal, compared to "The Chosen One of the Prophecy".
It was only when playing Twister with Tyson that he began to feel as if something was missing.
"Right foot blue!" Grover read.
Nico groaned, and fell to the floor in a pile of twisted limbs on top of Percy.
"Really man? You had to land on me." Percy complained.
Grover smiled. "At least Annabeth's not here. She'd be laughing her butt off."
All of the boys watched as Percy's smile slid off his face, and he whispered "Yeah. At least she's not here."
Just then Sally and Paul came into the living room. "Present time!" Sally called, and the group assembled around the small coffee table.
"OOOOH! Open mine first!" Tyson squealed, and Percy obliged. He carefully peeled back the paper as if it contained a bomb, although he was pleased to see on a jar of Jiff's Extra Creamy Peanut Butter.
"Aww, thanks Tyson!" He exclaimed as Nico and Grover tried to contain their laughter. "I'll use this for…something…."
The girt opening went on, with a maple leaf notebook from Grover and pomegranate from Nico ("Jeez, Nico, are you trying to kill me?")
Once Percy thought he was done, he stood up. "Wait!" Sally called. He looked down at a square box that was now lying on the table, courtesy of Hermes Delivery Co.
"It's for a 'Seaweed Brain'". Paul said in puzzlement. Percy blushed and took the box, not before smacking Grover and Nico for their catcalls.
This gift, he unwrapped as if it was made of glass, which it turns out it was. Inside the box lay a glass frame, with a picture of Percy and Annabeth, sitting in a tree after the chariot race. He was blushing, and he had good reason to, because 13 year old Annabeth had her lips on his cheek.
Percy in present time was blushing as well, because he remembered an occasion much like that one in Mt. St. Helens.
"Who is this?" Paul questioned him from behind his shoulder.
Percy jumped. "Uh, this is um, my best friend, Annabeth, she's a daughter of Athena—"
"And Percy has a mad crush on her!" Grover butted in.
"I do not!" he pleaded, but now Paul and Sally had adopted matching smirks.
"Oh really…" Sally said. "Grover, you wouldn't happen to have any proof of this, would you?"
Percy was shaking his head no empathically, but it was to no avail. Instead, he just sunk down in between the coach pillows, picture in hand, bracing himself for the torture.
"Thanks a lot, Wise Girl." He muttered, but he was smiling to himself.
Little did he know that one Annabeth Chase was watching this all through an Iris message. "You're welcome, Seaweed Brain."
(A/N So, how was it? Good, bad, okay? Let me know! Also, should this be a one-shot or should I continue it?)
