Author's note: I based this story off the movies and the show Spectacular Spider man. I took the idea from the movie that Peter could spin webs from his wrists instead of using web shooters. In my opinion him being able to spin the webs on his own makes him just that more amazing :p I took some of the fight scenes from the movie and put them into here but with a twist. The fact that Peter is in high school and his love interests are pretty much the same as the show; there's just allot of elements from each in here along with my own original ideas. I'm going to try to drag this story out for as long as I can, I will be going back and making changes to every chapter now and then until I get it just right, so fallow the updates and let me know how I'm doing. :) Enjoy!
"Finally, a way to reveal the bug's identity!" Norman Osborne said aloud as he held up a vile of noxious gas. The crazed men leant back in his chair and propped his feet up on his desk.
"This gas will take no effect on mere humans, but to Spiderman it is highly toxic. Now that I have a lead on who he is, and the entire city hates him, all because of me of course. It's the perfect chance to rule him out of the crowd, and have him sent to jail! That way he'll be out of my hair, and will no longer ruin my plans!" Norman said, laughing the laugh of a mad man.
"Dad… dad? Are you talking to yourself again?" Norman heard Harry call from just outside the door.
"And with my wealth, and authority now as governor of New York City, no one can deny me this opportunity to reveal Spider-man's identity! There's no way this could fail!" Norman finished monologue-ing, and set the vile down on the table.
"Dad?" Harry asked again this time his voice was louder. Norman stood up from his desk, beginning to get annoyed, and headed toward the door.
Mean while at Peter's house
Beep Beep Beep
Peter woke with a start at the sound of his alarm clock. He slowly crawled out of bed, still in his Spider-man costume. He quickly threw his school clothes on over his costume, and headed down the stairs where the smell of pancakes, eggs, and bacon overwhelmed his senses.
"Smells great Aunt May, but I.." Peter paused, looking down at his wrist watch. " I'm gonna be late, I don't have time to sit, and enjoy this well thought meal." Peter said now facing his Aunt who was in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove.
"Oh, don't worry darling but at least have a piece of toast before you go." She replied smiling back at him.
"Love you." He said as he grabbed a piece of toast from the plate on the table, and headed out the door. A couple second later he ran back inside, grabbed another piece of toast, and his backpack before leaving, again.
"No no no!" Peter yelled as he watched the bus roll past his house.
Well I guess it's not like I don't have another way there or anything.
He thought to himself smiling. He then jogged to the nearest alley, tore of his school clothes, revealing his Spiderman costume, and threw on his mask. In a matter of seconds he was in his red, and blues, shooting a web to the nearest building, and swinging his way to school with his backpack slung over his shoulder.
Once at the school he dropped behind a nearby dumpster where he slide of his mask, and tossed his school clothes over his costume once again.
Peter's school day went by normally until 5th hour, where something unexpected happened.
"Hey Pete." Gwen called as Peter entered the room. He walked to the middle of the room, and sat in the desk next to Gwen.
"Hey Pete." Flash mocked Gwen before the entire class began to laugh. Peter, and Gwen sighed, and begun to talk amongst themselves. The class turned its attention to the teacher who began to take role but was interrupted by the announcements.
"By orders of the governor the school is now being locked down, no one is allowed in or out of the building until further notice." The principle said through the announcements. The class began to whisper to each other, asking what was going on, and what the reason for it was.
"He'll answer your questions in just a moment now be quiet!" The teacher barked.
The class fell silent when the cackling sound of the microphone was heard.
"Now don't freak out. The governor has a lead on who Spiderman is, and wants him arrested immediately, he has suspicion he is in this very building. By orders we are releasing a gas into the entire school to reveal if he is indeed in the building. Not even I think he's is, but I have my orders. This gas is not harmful to humans but is said to be toxic to Spiderman, and should he breathe it, he will be easily picked out of the crowd." The principle said. Peter turned a ghost white, and stared straight forward, speechless.
What am I going to do now? This has to be one of the goblin's plans, I just know it. But why is he trying to reveal my secret? I have to do something quick before they release that gas!Peter thought silently.
"Do you really think spider man could be in this school? You get his picture for the bugle; you don't know who he really is, do you? Why do you think they want him arrested?" Gwen asked Peter, but was not answered.
"Hello? Earth to Peter!" Gwen snapped her fingers in Peter's face bringing him back from his thoughts. Peter slowly turned, and looked at Gwen with dazed eyes. Around them the room was alive again, and full of chatter.
"No way is anyone in this school Spider-man!" Flash yelled out.
"I'm sure he's not but, but I think it'd be cool to see who he really is ya know? Maybe then I could thank him for all the times he's saved me and my family." Liz replied to Flash's outburst. Suddenly everyone chimed in, telling stories about how they were saved by spiderman at least once.
"Pete what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost." Gwen said, concerned for Peter. Peter glanced at Gwen, his mind fogged; he hadn't a clue how he was going to get out of this one.
"I… uh… I.." Peter stuttered, not entirely sure of what he was trying to say.
"What are you so worried about, it's not like you're Spider-man or anything." She said with a light laugh.
"…..yeah….it's not like I'm Spiderman…" He whispered more to himself then to her.
Think Parker think! You have to do something fast! Or everyone's going to know your secret!
Peter stood up, and began walking toward the front of the room.
"I…I have to use the bathroom." He said to the teacher, knowing this wouldn't get him out of class, but it was worth a try right?
"No can do Mr. Parker, please have a seat." He replied. As Peter was making his way back to his seat the announcements came back on.
"The gas is now being released, and should take effect on said person within about ten minutes. Teachers please take a look at your emails; you will notice a list of symptoms the said person will give off if they happen to be Spider-man. Please report any of these symptoms you see in any of the students.
Once the principal's voice fell silent the teacher began to read off the symptoms.
"Ok the symptoms are, coughing, trouble breathing, temporary loss of eye sight, weakness, body spasms, bleeding from the nose, and or mouth, and possible paralysis. Well shouldn't be too hard to tell if any of you are Spiderman. Man I hope one of you are so I can see your reactions as you're dragged off to prison!" The teacher bellowed.
"Spiderman is a hero, and deserves to be treated like one not thrown in jail!" Flash stood up.
"Everyone has their own opinions, and I happen to think of him as a felon! He's a menace, and jail is where he belongs! Now have a seat Mr. Thompson." As the teacher finished talking the class went back to its normal self; people yelling, fighting, paper airplanes flying across the room, everything you can think of in a high school class room. Peter made his way back to his seat, thinking of any possible way out. A few minutes later Peter began to cough violently, but the noise of the classroom covered it up.
"Peter are you ok?" Gwen asked as Peter's coughing worsened.
"I…I'm fine… it's…just allergies" Peter replied through a coughing fit.
Oh no! It's getting harder to breath! What is this stuff?
Peter's eyes widened as it became harder and harder to breath.
I have to do something! There has to be some way out of here!
By now Peter was gasping for air.
"Oh my gosh, Peter!" Gwen shrieked as she noticed Peter struggling for air.
"What's going on back there?" The teacher asked as he made his way to the back of the class where he found Peter on the floor clasping his collar, and gasping for air.
"Can't…breath…..gotta…get….out…..of here." Peter gasped, his chest heaving in an effort to bring oxygen to his brain.
"I have to call this in." The teacher said making his way back up to his desk only to stop in the middle of the room at the sound of Flash's voice.
"Puny Parker wished he were Spiderman, so he's faking the symptoms, and not doing a very good job at it!" Flash laughed as he walked past Peter. The teacher walked back to his desk, and picked up the phone. The entire class turned their attention to Peter, who looked around, desperate for an escape.
There's no window's to leave from, only the doors. I have one shot and I have to try it!
Peter slowly stood up on un-easy legs, and started to make his way toward the door. Black dots danced in Peter's vision as he walked, causing him to wobble and become even more off balance. With struggling steps Peter made it to the middle of the room before a coughing fit made him double over in pain and spit up blood. Peter collapse to his hands and knees, his body retching with coughs.
The students stood in horror as they watched Peter struggle to stand back up again, which he eventually did. Peter took a few weak steps forward before a warm liquid streaming from his nose, and mouth alike stopped him in his tracks. With a shaking hand, Peter reached up, and wiped at his nose. When Peter pulled his hand away it was stained red.
Oh no, this definitely isn't good, I can feel the gas burn my throat with every breath. This is probably doing much worse damage internally then externally. Peter continued to push himself forward.
Once at the door Peter pawed weakly at the knob but no sooner then his hand had made contact with the knob, the door flew open, hitting him in the face and knocking him unconscious.
"Where is he?" A gruff voice asked before two men entered the room.
"There, on the ground." The teacher replied pointing to where Peter lay. The two men took him by the hands and dragged his unconscious body out of the room.
