I hear your name whispered on the wind

It's a sound that makes me cry

I hear a song blow again and again

Through my mind and I don't know why

I wish I didn't feel so strong about you

Like happiness and love revolve around you

Was she truly a woman? In his mind, there was no doubt that she was. Despite her appearance and the culture from which she derived, she was far more feminine than many more obviously female persons he had known were. I had a feeling you were different. From the moment he had met her, he had known that she was no genderless neuter. She exuded the very essence of womanliness. The alarm he had felt when she had been injured, the protectiveness in his touch when he had gently placed his hands on her shoulders in sickbay, those had come to him naturally, automatically. Despite the relatively short amount of time that he had known her, he was sure that his feelings for her were genuine and sincere.

I've learned to feel what I cannot see

But with you I lose that vision

I don't know how to dream your dream

So I'm all caught up in superstition

I want to reach out and pull you to me

Who says I should let a wild one go free

I knew that I would find you out here, Commander. He had escaped the bustle of the celebratory dinner and was enjoying the quiet stillness of the night. She offered to show him the plant life of her beautiful planet, and he readily agreed. Together they strolled amongst the trees and shrubs of the J'naii woodlands, far away, he hoped, from the prying eyes of those who would think of her femininity as an illness to be cured rather than as a treasure to be cherished, as he himself did.

He wanted to give her a gift. He knew that in a short while, the Enterprise would leave the planet J'naii, probably forever, to return to it's mission of exploring new worlds, and he and Soren would likely never see each other again. He knew that she had never been kissed by a real man before, and likely never would be. Gently, he took her elbow and turned her around to face him. She looked up into his eyes with no hesitation whatsoever, and there, under a starry night sky, they embraced and shared a tender and passionate kiss.
