Of fish, dances and kisses.

AN: I know, I'm obsessed. It's sad, but it's true. And I'm sorry this is short again. It's just a little thing about what happens when Matt goes after Perri in episode 15(Joker's Wild, where Edge puts soap on Perri's board). Hope you enjoy it.

He went after her, not calling her name though, letting her cool down first. When she plopped down on the sand, he sat down next to her. He thought about
putting his arm around her, but that probably would be too much. Looking ahead, just as she did, he tried to appease his guilty conscience, which was telling
him, that the thing that had triggered this whole disaster was his prank on Edge.

His thoughts were interrupted by her rather annoyed asking about what he wanted there.

She was pissed, pissed at Edge for making her miss the final and somehow pissed at Matt, because she knew he would get her to stop being pissed and smile
and she didn't want that. She wanted to bask in her rightful anger and hurt and then kill Edge. Nice and slowly.

"I'm sorry!", he said, it was after all his fault and though it hurt him, it was all he could offer to try to make it better a bit.

"What are you sorry for? It's not like you can do something about it."

"I know, but if I hadn't put that fish in Edge's bag, he wouldn't have felt the need to put soap on what he thought was my board."

"You put a fish in Edge's bag?", she asked him incredulous, it was something she's rather think Heath would do.

"Yeah", he answered sheepishly, hanging his head a bit.

Despite all her previous thoughts about not smiling, no matter what he told her, she couldn't help but smile, a little smile, but still.

"Tell me you got at least a picture of his face, when he found it."

"Sorry, should've let Heath in on it. He would've managed that. It was a great look though."

"Well, then I'm not sure if I can forgive you."

Though she said that playfully, he felt the need to still cheer her up a bit more.

"Shoot! But atleast there is a positive outcome to all this."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah! Now you can go to the loser's party tonight. And without having to think about having to surf tomorrow."

"Yeah, I guess.", she smiled, when suddenly she got another thought. "But you owe me a dance tonight mister, for putting that fish in Edge's bag and for not taking a picture of his face, deal?"

He smiled, dancing with Perri for causing her to miss the final. Not a bad deal on his side. Not a bad deal at all.

"Deal!", he affirmed and stood up. Offering her his hand, he added: "Let's go back to the others. I'm sure Bec and Fly could do with our support, if their heat isn't already over yet."

Nodding, she took his hand and got up. Before she could think better of it, she kissed him gently on the cheek, whispering "Thank you!" in his ear. When he had overcome his surprise, she was already half way down the beach.

Smiling to himself, he made his way after her.
