(PLEASE READ BELOW NOTE!)
Okamimaru~ I hope you enjoy Regrets. Its my first story of 2011. Btw: each page break most likely doesn't make sense though so I'll try my best to explain. I'm not sure for the first chapter if this could truly be considered an actual story. Each page break represents a break from the current story and a deep trip into Hinata's mind.
BTW: Listen to My Obssession by Skillet and while reading this chapter.
How Deep Do Your Regrets Run?
Hinata couldn't help that her eyes fallowed Temari's every movement as she changed into her gym uniform, clearly captivated by the older girl. If only Temari new how special she was or how much Hinata secretly *stalked* her as much as Ino and Tenten did. Ino and Tenten seemed just as obsessed but for all the right reasons. Talkative Tenten had long since been dubbed the official stalker of the group and never ceased to shut up about Temari and Gaara.
Gaara...the mysterious hottie. Holding a fanclub not only at school, but also on Facebook. A line of girls waiting every day after school to simply get a hug from him. Their fascination, unnerved and confused Hinata tremendously, for she saw nothing special about the sullen flirty boy. Then there was Ino...stupid, naive, and always happily energetic; never understanding boundaries or knowing when to stop. Hinata had long since lost track of how many times Ino and Tenten had been reprimanded by breaking Temari's *rules*.
Temari...so many words and not enough paper to describe her. Strong-willed, never backing down, stubborn, opinionated, always her mind, a natural born leader, seeming satanic and cold, but still taking care of those who need it Temari. Wherever she went Hinata, Ino, and Tenten would fallow closely behind. Hinata didn't doubt that Tenten and Ino would surely fallow Temari into the restroom, every single one of her classes, or home if they were allowed. Sometimes Hinata fallowed suit, but other times she shyed away, unsure of her own intentions, self mutilating herself with her own thoughts of what would never be...
Quiet, calm, and keeping her *stalking* to herself, Hinata had the only privilege of hugging Temari without suffering repercussions. But as much as Hinata was tolerated more so then her fellow classmates in P.E, her and Temari weren't truly any nearer to becoming close friends then when they first met. Then again, Hinata couldn't help but feel she only had herself to blame for that. Sure she was considered cute and was given more credit for common sense then Ino and Tenten but, on the flip side she was skittish and way too self-conscious around Temari. Blushing at every scolding she received from her, humiliating act, and touch (even as simple as a hug).
Today was Friday and as usual Hinata couldn't wait to get to gym. Although considered tiny, she was neither quick on her feet or athletic, instead being clumsy and uncoordinated. Sharing a locker with Temari, she waits patiently on the bench in front of Ino's locker not being able to open the locker on her own or even bothering to remember the combination. Lazy perhaps, but Hinata simply didn't see the point of it when she didn't ever use her own locker.
Temari seemed to appear out of nowhere, walking right past her. Hinata used to this *greeting* had long since become accustomed to Temari's neither warm or completely cold first reaction. Quietly fallowing behind, it isn't long until she's handed her gym clothes and her and Temari are changing. Remaining silent and focusing on hiding her *sure to be turning red* face, Hinata quickly changes, finishing as usual, first. Not really saying anything, she returns to Tenten's locker, offering an incoherent greeting, and putting her clothes into the other girl's locker. Going back to Temari's locker, she checks on her changing status, and fallows up by retracing her steps to Tenten, without being seen by her target.
Every now and then, Hinata would get a complaint or scolding similar to Tenten and Ino's reprimending, she'd bristle up at Temari's words and back off immediately. No one ever noticed though, as the weeks had gone by (after Temari's and Hinata's first meeting), she had grown colder, more and more often finding herself keeping a poker face up. The best and only one she could offer.
It wasn't that Hinata disliked Tenten or Ino, not at the least she enjoyed their company, both friendly and providing endless entertainment. That wasn't why she continuously pushed Ino away or prevented Tenten from giving her a hug. Or couldn't help but smolder everytime inside, when for a game she wasn't partnered with Temari, anger just lurking beneath the surface; jelousy a very dangerous, unpredictible, contagious, regretful emotion. Not angry, spiteful, or even envious by nature, only ecperiencing the constant pain of regret Hinata could only sulk and suffer silently. It wasn't as if Temari ever asked if she was okay, the sad blank look, having quickly become her trademark among the group.
Only Hinabi knew, always asking about the sad looks. Seeming to know exactly who was causing the pain, whether it be her ex Sasuke, her best friend Kiba, or her new friend Temari. Hinata could only rant for neither of them had any idea what to do about the problem, if you could call it that even. Her other best friend Shikamaru could only say, "keep your distance, you know where this could go, is it really worth the pain?" Although harsh sounding, it was the best advice he could offer.
Hinata shook her head from these intruding thoughts, it was time to play badmitton.
"I'm with Temari, Hinata!" Tenten announces when they first enter the girl's gym, smiling from ear to ear. At first Hinata stands there looking at Tenten, poker face on, debating on whether or not to glare or at least let out an annoyed growl, but deciding that would make her envy obvious, for she was supposed to be the normal *in control* one. Nodding and trying not to glance at Temari, she walks at a leisurly pace to the other side of the gym, taking her place next to Ino. The game went on as it usually did, Temari playing the best, Ino and Hinata doing decent, and Tenten acting too goofy to even play to her best abilities. However, toward the end and onward, Tenten began to taunt Ino and Temari, despite Hinata's not so nice commands to "Shut the fuck up!" Sparking a half over-competetive match, half annoyed response from Temari.
After changing back into their normal clothes and the bell had rung dismissing them, Temari admitted the reason for her foul moods lately had to do with the two *freshman*. Choosing always to agree to simply stay on the more mature girl's good side, not really ever finding her own voice till later, then again what she had to say would never be spoken.
Not even to Tenten she could dare speak of what was always on her mind when around Temari. But how she wanted to, just so that the younger girl understood her actions better. That she didn't mean all the harsh words or the cold nature or as Tenten so often put it, the evilness in Hinata. But a reaction would surely errupt from Tenten a loud one. What if Temari overheard and came over to investigate, and Tenten went ahead and told her, leaving Hinata no time at all to warn and make Tenten promise not to say a word to anyone. Telling Ino wasn't even in question, Hinata didn't care enough for the stupid blond to make excuses for her cold behavior, besides Ino would freak out too, but in the worst way possible...complete and utter disgust. She could always just be blunt with Temari, go for it, and whatever happens happens. Be straighforward, be brave, get the guilt and lies off her chest, off her conscious.
But how could she possibly tell Temari: how she felt? How she was the one thing Hinata couldn't wait to get to school to see? How she wished to matter as much as Gaara did, or even Kakashi and Shino did? How she wanted to be by her side? How her nervousness and careful nature was due to her affection toward her? How all she wanted was to come clean and be honest, tell Temari how beautiful and wonderful she truly was? How slowly and unavoidably she was falling for Temari and falling too fast to catch herself...
Okamimaru~ Just a bittersweet story about unrequited love. I guess this is supposed to be a seven chapter story, hence the title: The Seven Deadly Sins Of Tenth Grade. However, I'm not sure if there will be a second or third chapter, its kind of only meant to be a oneshot afterall, but who knows what my inspiration will bring? Anyhow please review if you actually would like to see more. With the help of reviews of letting me know what you guys think, I'll make sure to put up another chapter, if not this is the end.
