Frail hands clasped tightly together as Blaine and Kurt Anderson slowly made their way into their bed. They had been married sixty years, and now, at the age of eighty-one, they were still as in love as ever.

Blaine's hand found the small of Kurt's back, holding cautiously as he climbed into the soft bed, making sure he didn't fall, before he too clambered into the bed beside him.

Their hands remained tightly held together as they lay down, Kurt resting his head against Blaine's chest and his free hand placed lightly over his love's softly beating heart.

"... I went to the doctor today..." Kurt stated quietly.

Blaine tilted his head up in a slight nod, waiting curiously and slightly nervously for him to continue, already knowing how the story was going to play out.

"... I'm dying."

The sound of Blaine's heart breaking was deafening in the silence that followed.

"I know," Blaine said, almost inaudibly.

Kurt's eyes rose up to Blaine's own that were gazing, unfocused at the wall over Kurt's shoulder. There was a pause before,

"... Will you sing to me?" Kurt asked softly. "I love it when you sing to me..."

Blaine's eyes dropped from the wall, down to Kurt, and he nodded with a small exhale. "Of course..."

Kurt's eyes fluttered shut and he buried his face into Blaine's chest, relaxing against him.

I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone

That's all
That's all

Kurt sighed gently into Blaine's chest. He loved this song, and Blaine knew him so well. He smiled, listening carefully to each sweet lyric that fell from Blaine's lips.

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter's night

That's all
That's all

There are those I am sure who have told you
They would give you the world for a toy
All I have are these arms to enfold you
And a love even time can't destroy

If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it's me that you'll adore
For now and evermore

That's all
That's all

If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it's me that you'll adore
For now and evermore

That's all
That's all

The hand that had been resting casually against Blaine's heart, moved upwards, cupping Blaine's cheek softly with Kurt's weak hand. The bright blue eyes that seemed to always sparkle opened slowly, gazing into Blaine's own. "It's you..." Kurt said in a hushed tone as his head dropped back down onto Blaine's chest.

Blaine nodded shakily, tears forming in his hazel eyes as he gazed down at him. "I know," he repeated just as quietly.

Kurt's eyes had closed once more; his breathing quiet against Blaine's chest.

"I love you..." he whispered. "... Always love you."

There was a pause – a moment where the gentle breathing Blaine felt against his neck drifted into nothingness. A moment where the slow rising and falling of Kurt's chest against Blaine's stopped completely.

Blaine nodded again, his voice cracking as he spoke, "I know." He gently took the fingers that were against his cheek and pressed them to his lips, tears streaming freely down his cheeks. "I love you too..." he whispered. "Always."
