Inevitable

Sakura knew this day would come, sooner or later.

It was inevitable, really. The moment she met him, and fell in love with him, she knew that this encounter would happen. It was written in the stars.

She would just have to brace herself, and just spit out the question before she became too nervous and instead, asked something else, all together.

And if he answered 'yes', that would be fine. She would nod stiffly and they would both go along on their merry, little way.

And if he answered 'no', she would smile in relief and kiss him and then they'd get married and perhaps have four kids. Three boys and one girl, because Sakura just knew that he would want to have more boys than girls to carry on his name.

So, when the medic-nin stepped out of the super-market and saw the onyx-eyed boy sitting by his lonesome on a bench right across the street, she sprinted towards him. He looked up, his expression hardly changing from its bored and careless look at the pink-haired girl, red-faced and panting while carrying several bags of tomatoes (she knew he loved them, so she decided to love those damn tomatoes as well) in each arm.

They stared at each other, Sakura intently and him somewhat curiously. Finally, after bracing and reprimanding herself for the sixth time in that mere ten seconds, Sakura decided to ask the Question. It was inevitable after all.

"Sasuke-kun, are you gay?"
