Random fluff for the sake of fluff. Enjoy :D
Kaname held on tightly to Sousuke's hand as she dragged him through the crowds at the amusement park, grinning and pointing out all the fun things they could do. Sousuke was nervous, his hand twitching in Kaname's grasp, frightened by the intimacy of the contact.
"Ooh, let's ride this roller coaster first!" Kaname squealed, dragging Sousuke over. Seedy characters looked at them as they passed by. Sousuke was really starting to wish Kaname had let him bring some weapons along, but, unfortunately, she had thoroughly disarmed him before they left the house. She'd even taken away all of his knives…
Kaname practically threw Sousuke into the seat beside her on the roller coaster, pulling his safety restraint down so he couldn't escape. Then, she sat down and pulled her own restraint onto her lap.
"What's the point of this?" Sosuke asked nervously.
"It's just for fun, stupid."
The ride attendant stepped up to his platform.
"Alright, everyone, please keep your hands and felt inside the car at all times, and enjoy your ride."
Sousuke's heart jumped as the ride lurched forward and began climbing up the steep incline.
"Wha-what are we doing?" he stammered.
"It's a roller coaster, you idiot!" Kaname snapped. "What do you think we're doing?"
they reached the top of the hill and plummeted down.
Sosuke screamed as his heart leapt into his throat. He held on to the safety bar like a lifeline and closed his eyes.
When the ride came to a stop, Kaname saw Sousuke in this position.
"Don't be such a scaredycat, Sousuke," Kaname growled.
As soon as the safety bar was released, Sousuke made a beeline for the garbage can.
"Oh, gross!" Kaname squeaked.
"I'm sorry," Sousuke groaned, looking up at her with his big, somber gray eyes.
Kaname's scowl softened.
"I guess roller coasters just aren't your thing. C'mon, let's go play some games."
Kaname won a giant stuffed panda at a ring toss. Sousuke, a stuffed frog. They ate their lunch on a bench that ran along the path.
Sousuke contemplated his frog thoughtfully, eyebrows knit together.
"What's so funny?"
"You are, Sousuke. Only you could look so serious with a plush toy!"
"No, I was…just thinking."
"…I had a Bonta-kun plush toy when I was younger. I…I miss it sometimes. This reminds me of it."
Kaname suddenly felt uneasy.
"Hey, um, wanna go on the Ferris Wheel?" she asked, to change the subject.
"Oh? Sure thing."
Kaname took Sousuke's hand again and pulled him towards the Ferris Wheel.
They took their seats and began to ascend.
The Ferris Wheel took them up so they got a clear view of the lake beside the park. The sun made the water glitter like a million tiny diamonds. Sousuke's mouth twitched into the tiniest hint of a smile.
There was a grinding noise, and the Ferris Wheel came to a halt.
"Please remain calm. I'm sure it's just a minor malfunction."
Judging by the way that Sousuke's knuckles went white against the seat, Kaname could tell he wasn't quite as confident as he sounded.
"Hey, don't worry about it. These things are supposed to stop like this."
Sousuke brushed his hand against Kaname's before taking it in his own.
Kaname knew how hard it was for him to do that. he was completely paranoid, and nervous about any type of physical contact.
Kaname kissed Sousuke on the cheek before snuggling up to his shoulder. Sousuke looked in the opposite direction so she wouldn't catch him blushing.
