A dark summer night, illuminated by only the faint white light of the stars. Kate looked out her window into the bleak darkness. The only sound was the murmur of the dialysis machine. Silver light grazed the hard angles of her face. The smell of antiseptic filled the air.
Like that story, Knite. She reflected. And she lay there, on her hospital bed, waiting for the stars to fall.
A/n: This is an elaboration of the scene where Anna is at the station on the roof with her dad. They were watching the meteor shower.
