Hey, guys! Did I mention that I suck? This is probably full of mistakes, but I felt like writing for a River Song challenge, here it is! Dedicated to Mialle and Diana Prallon and all my other friends that love Doctor Who.
River woke up after one more beautiful dream and looked around. Prison wasn't that bad. She could always break out and didn't mind on coming back to honor her promise to the Doctor. The thing that bothered her the most was staying away from him. It was sad how he forced his existence on her life. Out of 100 ways to take, destiny chose a path that would make her almost nostalgic of how things would've been easier if she wasn't who she is. Although it was nice to see how her parents were brave, young and strong, fighting injustice across the universe. The look on Amy's face everytime she knew something new and looked eager to go deeper was fascinating. It was like watching a big baby learning about how the Universe is much more than just their bedroom. And her father, the Roman. It didn't take a second look to realise he would fight till death for what he loved.
But how would life have been if she wasn't half Time Lord, half human? How would it be not knowing the Doctor, going to school like the other human kids, wondering if Gallifrey was actually food and not a planet. She liked to imagine Amy cooking every morning. She was scottish, she could fry stuff. And Rory fixing her everytime she got a bruise. Freaking out everytime she talked about boys and girls. Dating. What would she watch on TV? Would she like to write and read books about science fiction? Would her mother open the window every morning so the sun could wake her up?
It didn't matter. In a different reality maybe she was being happy living a life just this, but on that one, she had him. She had stars named after her. She visited the whereabouts out of galaxies she didn't even imagined existed. Prison and not having a dreamy childhood was a good price to pay for the opportunity to know that life is so much more than everybody thinks it is. That being in the first place, that living, was just the begginng of a bigger adventure. A unknown adventure, but still. A journey through knowledge, to learn how to respect and understand everything there is and after that, more and more surprises the Universe reserved.
River woke up to live another dream, maybe even better than the one trapped inside her mind.
