Malfoys Never Lie

A/N: Challenge from my sister. Prompts: "When life was just you, life was happy. Now... it's fallen to pieces."

"You are my queen. My love."

"I'm done talking. I'm done thinking. I just want to curl up into a ball and stop feeling, but you won't let me! Why?"

Pairing: Draco/Luna

Words: No more than 500.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, apart from the storyline. And, no, Luna does not have a kid with Draco in the books.

Summary: "I'm a Malfoy. And Malfoys never lie." Little did Luna know that this was the first like Draco would tell her. There was a lot more to come.

"You are my queen. My love." Draco looked into Luna's eyes. "Believe me, please. I love you. I will always love you."

Luna's breath caught for a second. "You mean it?"

"Of course. I am a Malfoy. And Malfoys never lie."

Little did Luna know that this was the first lie Draco would tell her. There was more to come.

8 months later, things weren't going well for Luna. She and Draco had fought, split up, made up again, and on and on, in one vicious circle. She was 2 months pregnant with Draco. They never said 'I love you' to one another anymore – they were just together. Draco unlocked the flat they were sharing (they still slept in the same bed) and called out, "Luna! We need to talk."

Luna, who had been in her favourite armchair by the fire, sighed and massaged her head. "Go away. I'm done talking. I'm done thinking. I just want to curl up into a ball and stop feeling, but you won't let me! Why?" She looked into his blue eyes and saw that he had no answer. "Draco, I'm tired of this. Neither of us love each other anymore. So why are we carrying like this? Tell me."

"Luna, I still love you," he said, his sincere tone managing to cover the lie. "And, besides, what about our baby?"

Luna shook her head. "Draco... I can't. Just... leave me alone. We... I'm not sure I want this anymore."

Draco shrugged. "Fine. It's your decision," he said coolly, before striding out again. "You can keep the baby!"

It had been 2 weeks and Luna wasn't coping. Every time she saw Draco, he ignored her, pretended he was busy, pretended he was on the phone. She had started drinking, trying to drown her troubles. Her friends had noticed this change. 'Luna, I told you he was bad! Now look at you' was Ron's words of 'comfort'. Harry tried a different angle, instead telling her 'He still loves you, he said so himself. So just go and find him, apologise'. Hermione had thought she was insane by dating him in the first place, stating that 'dating him meant certain heartbreak in the end'. Luna got home from a day of being advised by loads of different people. She went straight to her chest of drawers where she kept a picture of Draco. "When life was just you, life was happy. Now... it's fallen to pieces," she muttered.

"Talking to yourself shows you're mad, didn't you know?" A sarcastic voice from behind her said. Draco Malfoy. "I was checking you're okay."

"I'm fine." She had to stop lying. "Actually... I missed you." She tried to say more but was stopped by a pair of lips on hers.

"I missed you too."

When Draco slid his hand up her top, Luna shook her head. "Not now," she muttered.

"Why not? There's a perfectly good bed here," Draco said with a wink, and Luna giggled before kissing him.

A/N: Exactly 500 words! Whoo. Now, please go and review? Tell me you hated it if you did, I don't care. Just review.
