Otaku's Note: Hey there. This is my... somewhat FIRST attempt at writing a Lupin X Severus fic. I prefer Severus to be the uke... I'unno WHY he could POSSIBLY be the seme... I mean, he's been abused all his life and all that crap.
He needs a nice, caring Seme to take care of him.

A story by Otakusama Rengette
Severus had been bitten. He had received the werewolf bite after Sirius had lured Severus into following him towards the shrieking shack, during the full moon. Lupin was there- in his werewolf form. James had decided that this was going too far, and at the last moments and attempted to pull Severus out of harm's way; but he wasn't quick enough.
The bite had already been delivered, and the Slytherin was a bloody mess on the rotting wooden floors.
They had still managed to save his life by bringing him back to the castle and straight to Madame Pomfrey, though.
All they could do now was pray.
A blinding white light attacked his sensitive pupils as Severus attempted to open his eyes. Putting a hand over them, he tried to get up, despite the amount of pain and aching it caused him.
"Oh! Severus m'boy, you're awake!" The black haired boy recognized that loud and obnoxious voice immediately. It was Horace Slughorn, the head of Slytherin house.
There was a light shuffling of feet, and when Severus' eyes had finally managed to adjust to the light, there was Madame Pomfrey as well, standing next to his bed, kind and concerned eyes staring down at him.
But what really caught his attention- was the figure of Professor Dumbledore himself standing on the other side of his sick bed.
"We're glad you're awake, Mr. Snape. You had us worried there." The headmaster said, eyes showing relief.
Madame Pomfrey nodded. "You've been out for almost a whole day."
"What happened? The last thing I remember was Black… then I woke up here." The confused teen said, blinking.
The adults exchanged uneasy looks. Then, Madame Pomfrey proceeded to usher Professor Slughorn and herself out of the room, leaving Dumbledore and Severus alone together.
"… Professor? Is there something wrong?" Severus asked cautiously.
Dumbledore's eyes filled with immense unease, the Slytherin noticed. He had always been rather good at reading emotions, though the only people who put up challenges for him were Lilly, and of course- Professor Dumbledore himself.
"Do you remember the place where Sirius Black led you to, Mr. Snape?" The aged wizard started, glancing at the somewhat impatient boy.
"Of course I did! It was-"
Then it all came rushing back to him. He was there- in the Shrieking Shack, hoping to find out where the troublesome duo disappeared to every time the full moon appeared in the sky.
Then, there was Lupin… the werewolf. The monster had bitten Severus on the shoulder harshly, and blood flew everywhere. Severus had felt his head spinning, everything fading away and someone dragging him into a corner.
He had promptly blacked out, on the verge of death.
Fingering the bandages on his right shoulder, Severus Snape started to tremble.
"You… you mean," The teen felt his mouth run dry.
"I'm… a werewolf?"
Dumbledore had tried his best to console the poor boy- but Severus had refused all offers of counselling sessions or even talks with the wise man.
"I… I just need some time to think." He had said.
The professor sighed. He was getting much too old for this. But his work wasn't done yet. As he opened the doors to his office, four figures jumped up in alarm.
James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin all looked at the professor anxiously, hair ruffled from sleeping on the hard sofas in the headmaster's office. Lupin was by far the worst off amongst them.
His eyes were tinged a reddish colour, as though he had been crying. There were still specks of blood on his slightly torn clothing, and he was as pale as death.
"How is he?" James asked hesitantly. Professor Dumbledore eyed the brunet and heaved a slight sigh.
"Mr. Snape is awake. Although… we could safely say that his life will never be the same. You have gone too far this time, Sirius. You could have killed him."
Sirius had the decency to look ashamed. "I didn't mean to hurt him that badly… bloody git scared the life out of me." He mumbled, almost inaudibly.
The professor shook his head.
"Then you should have never attempted such a thing. Under other circumstances, if Mr. Snape had died… then I would have expelled you the moment I had heard of it."
Sirius' face paled immensely. He held his breath.
"… But, considering that Mr. Snape is still alive and recovering… I am willing to overlook this incident."
And finally Sirius could breathe.
"Do not think you will be unpunished for this, Mr. Black. You will be serving six months worth of detentions with Professor McGonagall, and will be prohibited from entering Hogsmeade Village for the rest of the school year." Dumbledore finished.
James and Peter sat stiffly in their seats, waiting for their punishments to be given out as well.
"For you, Mr. Potter- you will be receiving two months worth of detentions. This is because you chose to save Mr. Snape at the last moment. I am proud of you."
James managed to smile uneasily.
"And finally, Mr. Pettigrew… you will be receiving the same punishment as Mr. Potter, although you will not be allowed to visit Hogsmeade for the next two months."
Professor Dumbledore dismissed the three boys back to their dormitories first, and then turned to Lupin.
The brunet swallowed, and wringed his hands.
"Remus," Dumbledore began, and the prefect winced as the professor said his first name. "I know you did not mean to bite Severus on purpose. But-"
"I'm going to be expelled, aren't I?" Remus asked gloomily. Dumbledore blinked, and then smiled slightly, eyes twinkling once more.
"Let us not jump to conclusions, Mr. Lupin. Mr. Snape is more than aware of the characteristics of the werewolf- including many other dark creatures. He excels in such things. I am sure he wouldn't hold it against you."
"I highly doubt that." Remus interrupted.
"Ah, yes. He may be stubborn and perhaps even hateful towards you for a period of time- but do keep this in mind, Mr. Lupin. Severus is your responsibility now."
Highly confused by the professor's statement, Lupin requested that the professor explain.
"Mr. Snape is now part of your… pack. Although you were bitten by another werewolf- that particular wolf has neglected you and refused to take you into his clan by abandoning you. But on the other hand, Severus Snape is part of your responsibility now as you have bitten him. Unless you choose not to take the responsibility; Mr. Snape is now a fellow pack member of yours."
It took a moment for Lupin to absorb what Dumbledore had just said.
"So… we're a pack?"
"I understand that using the term 'pack' might be a little racist-"
Remus shook his head. "No, that's not what I'm concerned about. It's about who's the leader."
"Why- you are, of course. To put it in werewolf terms, it would be safe to say that you are the Alpha of your pack." Professor Dumbledore said.
Remus cursed under his breath. He knew it. Severus wasn't going to like this.
Not. At. All.
Avoiding any of his house members, Severus sneaked into the baths and stripped himself of all clothing. Quickly stepping into the warm water, he breathed a sigh of content. He had finally been released from the ward a few days ago, and was allowed to attend classes again.
None of his fellow Slytherins had been allowed to visit him- and therefore he couldn't have attained any amount of homework.
No homework! For days! It was torture.
He scrubbed his hair down quickly, carefully conditioning it and drying it. Madame Pomfrey had been so annoyed by his long hair covering the front of his face every time she changed his head bandages; that she had cut some side-bangs for him, not caring about his protests.
Then, she had proceeded to fix his nose (that had been broken by his abusive father back when he was still a child). He didn't know why she gave him that amazed look afterwards, but had merely shrugged it off, wanting to go back to sleep again.
Severus finally turned to face the long narrow mirrors on the bathroom walls. And he nearly got a heart attack.
Who… who was that GIRL staring back at him? WHO WAS IT?
After panicking and fidgeting a little, wondering why there was a girl in the Slytherin's MALE bathroom, the black haired boy finally realised- that the pretty looking girl in the mirror… was him.
And then he screamed.
The Great Hall was filled with students, each chewing happily on a warm and filling meal, chatting happily with their friends and anticipating the weekend.
Nobody noticed a certain person making a quick dash to the Slytherin table. Well, at least until…
"BLIMEY, SEVERUS! WHAT'S WITH YOUR HAIR?" An alarmed Rosier shouted, pointing directly in Severus' face.
Said teen scowled and slapped the hand away. "It's just a haircut." He mumbled.
"And your nose!" Rosier continued, fingers prodding Severus' nose gently, but the hand also got quickly slapped away. "You look like a freaking girl!"
By then, people were starting to look in their direction.
"Would you sod off? It's no big deal! Madame Pomfrey just fixed my nose a little- since it was broken." Severus huffed.
Avery and Wilkes decided to cut in.
"Ah, she did a lovely job, Sev. You look absolutely marvellous."
"Avery's right you know. You're positively stunning."
Snarling, Severus threw them both death-glares. "I'll get the both of you later…" The Slytherin promised grimly.
"Oh, I feel faint… hold me, Wilkes!" Avery said, feigning fear.
At the sight of Severus' pretty, pouting face, the three of them sniggered. Finally, they started to eat, and proceeded to talk about that day's lessons.
Inwardly, Severus wondered if he should tell them… of his condition.
'They'll just think I'm a monster.' But the teen stopped himself abruptly at that point of his thoughts. He had barely been able to pull himself out of his depression when Dumbledore told him- but he managed to convince himself that he would be alright, somehow.
Lupin was a perfectly good example- he was a werewolf and nobody had suspected it of him so far…
If Lupin was the werewolf that bit him… and after ex-humans went through the process of lycanthrophy… the wolf that had bitten them ultimately became their Alphas.
Oh HELL NO, Severus thought angrily, stabbing an innocent potato with his fault. He had already been kind enough not to hunt Lupin down and kill the bloody monster- but he now had to deal with being his underling?
"DAMN IT ALL!"
Severus hadn't noticed how loud he had yelled those words until he felt hundreds of eyes upon him.
"Language, Mr. Snape." Professor McGonagall warned from the head table, and left it as that.
Wilkes chuckled, prodding Severus' forehead with his knife. "What's got your knickers in a twist this fine morning, mate?"
"Don't you 'nothing' us!" Avery barked, slamming a fist onto the table. "You remember when you refused to tell us about Crabbe and Goyle beating you up after lessons? We found you on the ground- covered in bruises!"
Rolling his eyes, Severus returned to his breakfast.
"Not now. I'll tell you about it… eventually." Severus finished with a sly smirk.
"Damn! Why won't they keep it down?" Sirius growled as heard a bunch of Slytherins yelling at someone.
Peter nodded, though not really meaning it. James continued to wolf down his pancakes while Lupin stared dazedly at the Slytherin table.
"Oy, Moony! Quit staring at them. They'll think you're up to something." Sirius said, nudging his friend roughly. Lupin smiled slightly, and went back to slowly sipping down his pumpkin juice.
His friends noticed the tension hanging in the air around them- which had been a challenge, you know, them being clueless emotional morons and all.
"... Right. Well. I'm going to class now- Professor McGonagall won't be happy if I'm late." Lupin said, getting up and slinging his backpack on his shoulder.
They watched him leave in silence.
