"Five minutes until showtime," one of the many producers told her. Of course, she already knew; it was her show in the first place.
She took a quick sip of her water, and checked to make sure her hair was okay and not starting to get all frizzy under all the lights. Thankfully, her ponytail was perfect, and it sung back and forth whenever she walked.
So, she reminded herself, first, I introduce myself, then I keep everyone laughing until the first few clips are ready, and after that, I call Drake and Josh out to do their little improv skit with me. I leave the stage, get some water, and when I come back, I introduce even more clips. I act funny for a few more minutes until the show ends.
It was a demanding schedule, but it was a demanding job. Amanda was used to it. Her show was the most popular on the network, and completely blew all the shows on the Dingo Channel out of the water.
"Three minutes," Josh checked as he walked past. Amanda debated the idea she had been, well, debating for the past few months before deciding to go along with it.
"Hey, Josh," she stopped him.
"Yeah Amanda?" He asked, sweating under the hot lights that always messed up everyone's hair.
"I was just wondering if you and Drake were going to stay on the show another season."
"Of course, we both love being a part of 'The Amanda Show'. Why do you ask?"
"Well, you guys are really funny, and great to work with. And-"
He pulled her in, pressing his lips against her own. The words that were on her tongue were lost as she returned the kiss. She couldn't even comprehend what was happening. Josh was kissing her. The same Josh she had kinda sorta been crushing on since he joined the cast. He liked her back…
He pulled back, his face turning red with embarrassment. She looked up at him, at his poofy mass of hair that shone in the lights.
"And you love me…"
"Is that a bad thing?"
"No," she replied, kissing him again on the cheek. "I love you too."
"We'd better start moving, huh?"
"Why?" she asked him, caught in the moment.
"Because there's only one minute 'till showtime."
They walked towards the stage, hand in hand. They seemed to fit together.
And when the music started, and the crowd cheered, Josh smiled. He smiled because he loved this girl who could so easily light up the stage and make people laugh.
He smiled, also, because he loved her.
Josh loved Amanda. And Amanda had loved him back.
"Hey man, ready?" Drake asked him backstage.
"Are you alright?"
"Okay, so you know that new show the network wants us to do. I was wondering if you were going to take it, and shoot the pilot."
"I want to stay here."
"Why? They said it would be the biggest thing the network has ever seen. They call it, 'Josh and Drake'. It would be our show."
"I want to stay here because I love Amanda."
