Chapter One: Wakeup Call
The sun seemed to squint as it was connected to the horizon, heavy cloud cover opressed it's warmth as the morning bugle sounded. The witches' of the 501st scrambled to get dressed as they always did, well, all the witches' except Sanya and Erica. Sanya had a reason to be asleep, Erica was just being lazy as usual. A half asleep Charlotte stood in her doorway brushing her teeth as she did on occasion, and she couldn't help but hear a ruckus coming from Erica and Trude's room. She wasn't the only one that heard it, and those who did knew it was Trude yelling for Erica to wake up. Among the constant denying of more time, a loud thud was heard on the floor from inside their room. Moments' later, Trude exited the room followed soon after by Erica. It was almost always this way, of course some days' it would take a bit longer or shorter. Trude found comfort in her routine some how, every time she struggled with Erica for some reason she seemed to be joyed afterward. Whether it was her sense of self satisfaction or her feelings' for Erica, noone really knew. But, routines' are made to be broken just like rules'.
This morning was different, instead of a morning bugle calling out until everyone was awake and ready, the neuroi alarm cut the bugle short. Minna and Mio moved into the corridor where the witches' rooms were, and saw them panicing to get ready. "Okay everyone calm down!" Mio shouted into the fray of rushing women. Minna stepped forward, "Okay, this isn't a serious attack! It seems the neuroi is just making rounds over the open ocean. Erica, Trude, Mio, and Perrine will handle it. Everyone else just finish getting ready and report to the dining room!" She was answered with nods'. Erica, Trude, and Perrine made their way to the hanger with the major, and everyone else finished getting dressed as lazily as they were before. Mio had grabbed her Type 99 and stepped onto her striker unit's platform before she noticed Erica moving a lot slower than normal. Erica was on her striker unit's platform, though, so she didn't bother to ask questions'. Trude had noticed as well but she knew not to question Erica seeing as they were low on time.
