They both know they're doomed. They're people of yesterday. They live in it. They have no choice. The past continues to haunt them.
He's unable to believe that everything he took for granted has ceased to exist. She's unable to believe that people she loved more than her own life are now gone forever. He has to deal with his mistakes. She has to deal with a world that's changing - a world that's leaving her behind.
They meet in darkness.
It doesn't bother her- not anymore. For Ginny Weasley stopped lying to herself a long time ago. She isn't afraid of the dark- she never was. In fact, she's intrigued by it.
They don't talk to each other.
It doesn't matter to him. He's used to silence. He needs it. He craves it. Draco Malfoy isn't interested in words for he has learnt that they mean nothing. But her company, the sound of her breathing and the feel of her skin against his is enough to remind him he's still alive.
They both need to forget.
They take what they want in the end. Ginny is with him because she wants to feel for once. She craves his pain, his cruelty, his regrets. Draco is doing it because he wants to stop feeling - even for a moment. He craves her innocence, her happiness, her joy.
Happy birthday, Pooja, opaque-girl!
This is my first GinnyDraco but, after reading a fic in HPFF, I found the pairing quite intriguing... And since birthday girl loves it, I thought why not give it a shot? After all our birthday are on the same day! (June 20th).
Beta read by wonderful Kim (xakemii)!
