"Question... Why aren't we sitting at a table in there like a normal person?" Came a lightly amused, slightly annoyed voice from a large bush outside of Akimichi Restaurant.
"Because we're not normal people obviously, duh! Un!" Came a more obviously amused voice from a smaller bush, which was quickly followed by a bout of giggling.
"Shut up brat, no one asked you!" The first voice growled, as the bush began to shake slightly.
"Well then you should ask your question of someone specific if you don't want me to answer you!" Came the second voice again, followed by a sound that clearly indicated the person was sticking their tongue out. "Besides, it's no fun being normal! If we were all normal, we'd be boring like you! Un!" They added, giggling madly.
"Say that again brat!" Sasori yelled, his head popping out of the top of his bush as he shook his fist at the smaller bush. Deidara giggled again as he poked his head out of the side of his bush, waggling his hands beside his ears as he stuck out his tongue at the redhead and then hastily disappeared back into his bush. Sasori made to dive into the smaller bush, but the sudden appearance of Neji's head in the bush on the far side of Deidara's bush made him pause. Neji stared at the redhead with a blank expression for several seconds, before he slowly sank back into his own bush. Sasori blinked, and then began to mutter under his breath, as he sank back into his own hiding place.
"I've got a question too you know..." Gaara said after an awkward silence. "Why is it we're hiding in bushes, while Itachi and Kabuto are watching from the comfort of the limo?" He asked lightly, as if he were merely asking about the weather instead of their somewhat ludicrous hiding places.
"Because Itachi has too much class to hide in bushes, and Kabuto is too stuck up. Also, it was kind of our idea..." Neji said quietly. Everyone stayed silent about the fact that it was actually entirely Deidara's idea to hide in the bushes, seeing as they had been just as eager to spy from as close as possible.
"You have to admit, un... he's pretty cute when he goes all red like that. I can see why Ita-chan likes him, un!" Deidara giggled, his eyes wide and sparkling with mischief as he watched Sasuke bow multiple times to the poor girl he had just caused to fall over by accidentally spilling a customer's drink as he gave them their food.
"I'm more surprised about the fact that he even has a job still... I mean, we've been watching for what, twenty minutes - and he's broken three plates, fallen over his own feet, tripped on a customers skirt, torn his shirt, given out the wrong change, burnt himself..." Sasori paused and took a deep breathe, about to continue his little rant on listing the many, many, many hilarious things they had watched Sasuke achieve while they had sat and watched from their bushes - however he found his mouth filled with his brother's tongue instead, and promptly forgot everything he was about to say. Sasori quietly moaned his appreciation into his twins unexpected kiss, eagerly curling his tongue around his siblings as he drew him closer.
"Do you really think this is the best time for that?" Neji muttered, as a hard knock connected with the tops of first Sasori and then Gaara's heads. Gaara bit his tongue and pushed his head out of the top of the bush he shard with his brother, intending to glare at the long haired brunette. However the sight of his averted eyes and flushed cheeks just made him smirk instead.
"Well, Neji... what brings you to my little bush?" He asked, waggling his thin and delicate red eyebrows suggestively, causing Neji to roll his eyes and look back towards Sasuke inside the restaurant they were spying on.
"I wonder if he would get mad if we went and got tables... What do you think Deidara?" Neji asked, ignoring the redhead that was talking to him completely. "It could be fun I guess-"
"SASU-CHAN!" Deidara squealed, as he launched himself out of his bush towards the restaurant doors. Neji, Sasori and Gaara all stared after him, turning slightly white as the excitable blonde sped away at high speed. He was apprehended by a firm hand grasping the back of his collar just before the door, followed by a dry sigh of irritation. Deidara squished his eyes shut and held his arms out as if to tackle Sasuke to the ground as he continued trying to run on the spot - despite now being held in place.
"Must you always be so noisy?" Came an annoyed sigh, as Deidara's captor turned the blonde around and released him - so that he ran head first into Sasori as the redhead attempted to climb from his bush. Deidara opened his eyes just in time to see the redhead fall backwards under his weight, before they both landed back in his bush.
"Un!" Kabuto sniggered as he heard the blonde's outcry at the collision and watched the shock settle in on their faces before they disappeared, pleased with himself for having one; shut Deidara up and two; well, shut Deidara up. He turned to the Uchiha standing beside him and pushed his glasses higher on his nose as he began to speak again.
"Are you sure this is a good idea Itachi, we've already blown off Host duties to trail Sasuke around like lost puppies - must we really go so far as to have him wait on us?" He asked, as he folded his arms over his chest and attempted to glare at his friend. In truth he hadn't seen Itachi look so amused by something so simple for so long that he was rather enjoying himself, but he would be damned if he let anyone know that - he was quite happy with everyone thinking he disliked Sasuke and he rather wanted it to stay that way thank you very much.
"Kabuto... I thought you would enjoy having Sasuke be our waiter, being able to boss him around even on his weekend..." Itachi said, his lips curling into a small smile as he continued to watch Sasuke bustle about inside.
"Hmph, with his service skills? I think not... although the idea of torturing him with my presence is highly attractive..." The silver haired bookworm replied, thoughtfully stroking at a beard that wasn't there. Of course, he could always admit that the idea of having Sasuke wait on them was highly amusing, but it was just too easy a shot - where was the challenge? He decided to keep this one to himself.
"Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! Neji-chan, Neji-chan! Danna bit meeeeeeeeeeee!" The loud and tearful sounding voice cut through all other conversation, as Neji appeared at the blondes side, stepping between him and Sasori with a hard glare on his face.
"Don't look at me like that Hyuuga! He bit me first!" Sasori said, trying to see around the blondes new bodyguard. Neji turned with a raised brow, silently asking the blonde cowering behind his feet if this was true. Deidara flushed bright red and looked away, crouching down as he suddenly became very intent on studying the cobblestone path they were on, tracing one index finger across the gaps between stones while he pouted and muttered to himself about "mean Danna's and Neji-chan's." Neji sighed and puffed out a small wisp of air, before turning back to Sasori and immediately freezing up and turning red himself.
Gaara had one arm draped across the back of Sasori's shoulders and one leg hooked around his waist, as he licked at the small red mark the blonde had left on his brother's throat. Neji hurriedly turned around, looking over at Itachi as the Uchiha just continued to ignore them all and watch the ever amusing Sasuke. Gaara smirked as Sasori all but purred for him, one arm slipping around his waist to pull him closer as he nursed the 'battle-wound' he had received from the blonde.
"Ita-chan...?" Deidara sniffed as he tried to avoid directly looking at the twins, his happiness unaffected by his previous moment of pain. Itachi tore his eyes from Sasuke and looked down at the now spread-eagled blonde on the floor, a brow raised in silent enquiry. "Can we go see Sasu-chan now? Un..." The blonde asked, sounding very much like the pouting child who was told that he cant go play with his friends today. Itachi looked at him a moment longer, before his lips curled into another of his small smiles and he nodded.
"I'm sure he'll be pleased to see us." He said, turning towards the door and fighting with a small smile that was attempting to quirk his lips upwards. Deidara sprang to his feet with a loud cheer, hurriedly running to catch up to the Uchiha as he entered the restaurant so he could get a good seat. Neji quietly followed Itachi and Deidara, while Sasori and Gaara attempted to disentangle themselves from each other.
He's going to be about as pleased to see us as he would be Hidan or Kakuzu... Kabuto thought, a cruel smirk on his lips as he held the door open. He loved winding Sasuke up, it was practically a hobby, and he was - though he would never admit it to anyone, highly looking forward to it.
Sasuke was having a pretty bad day, even by his usual standards. First, he couldn't get Itachi out of his head - second, he couldn't get the fact that Itachi had been to his house and seen him in his underwear, while drooling over his half eaten tomato out of his head. The two combined meant that he was a walking disaster front, which was led to double the trouble seeing as he was playing the role of waiter today. He sighed as he hung his head and fought off the urge to cry with frustration. He'd only had this job two weeks so far, his bad luck had managed to see him fired from he many others he'd had before.
"Sasuke - can you seat those customers?" Choji asked, as he tried to clean up after two tables at once.
"Sure!" Sasuke replied enthusiastically, trying to push aside all thoughts of Itachi the walking sex-god as he picked up some menu's and headed towards the entrance. "Welcome to Akimichi's, my name is Sasu-keeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." He trailed off as an exiting customer stepped out of the door and cleared the way for him to see the new incoming group. His jaw hung open as he stared wide eyed at the very person he was trying not to think about.
"Hello again Sasuke." Itachi said, smirking at the dumbfounded and blatant surprise on Sasuke's face. Sasuke just stared at him, his mouth moving even though no sound escaped him. Deidara giggled and launched himself at Sasuke, catching him by the throat as he cuddled into his side and whispered excitedly to him.
"We came all the way to see you Sasu-chan! We love you, un!" He said, his voice bubbling more than normal from all the excitement. "Well, actually I think it's just Ita-" Sasuke stared at the blondes mischief sparkling eyes for a moment while he babbled, not hearing a word that was escaping his rapidly moving lips, before he heard an all too familiar snigger and he whipped his head around to face the smug silver haired git.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be oh-so-busy doing, uh... What were you supposed to be doing today?" He asked, curious in spite of himself. Kabuto smirked in a way that told him he was absolutely not going to get an answer, at which point Itachi cut in.
"We seem to have found ourselves at a loss for the day. We were in the neighbourhood anyway and Deidara became hungry, we thought perhaps we could try the food here - I assure you it's a complete surprise to see you here, we had no idea you worked here..." He said, his face blank as he lied through his teeth. Sasuke raised a dubious brow, before realising he still had Deidara attached to his neck. He wriggled his way free and cleared his throat, his eyebrow twitching slightly as he showed his co-host's to a clean table.
"Here you are sirs, is there anything I can get you while you peruse- I mean uh, while you look through the menu?" He flushed scarlet at the way Itachi watched him, and tried to keep his eyes on the very interesting tablecloth as he gave out the menus to his little band of rather unsubtle stalkers.
"I think Itachi'd rather peruse something else..." Gaara whispered in Sasori's ear, making his brother stifle a chuckle behind his hand before coughing and slinking a sly look over at Deidara. The blonde blushed furiously and emitted a sudden sound that vaguely resembled a 'meep' before ducking behind an upside-down menu. Sasori's lips curled into an evil smirk, before he too began to leaf through a menu that he shared with his brother.
"Can you recommend anything to us Sasuke?" Kabuto hadn't even picked up a menu, choosing instead to smirk at the embarrassed raven as he tried to remember the days specials.
Other than 'get out and don't come back everyone who isn't the supremely hot and incredibly sexy Itachi?' Not really... Hell if I could I would order him... Sasuke coughed and his cheeks darkened to a dark rouge, as he tried to avoid his personal sex-god's eyes and rattled off the days specials and then his personal recommendation, though he kept it to a simple 'the seaweed onigiri is pretty good and the bakudan was edible.' Itachi's lip twitched upwards at his flushed appearance, though he didn't see it as he hid behinds his bangs, his pen and pad clutched before his nose as if he thought they might hide him from the other host's sight.
Itachi sat back in his seat and took a deep breath, his eyes shifting to his menu as he pretended to ponder his choices. Kabuto sniggered at his efforts, while the twins ignored everyone around them, not even bothering with the pretence of looking through a menu anymore as their tongues attacked one another's mouths intensely. Deidara was turning redder by the second as he sat beside them, though he continued to bounce in his seat excitedly and attempted to draw Sasuke out from the safety of his bangs. Neji sat stiffly opposite him, staring at the tablecloth in lieu of having to look at the twins, until Gaara suddenly drew back from his brother's mouth with a sharp cry, apparently having received a hard kick to the knee under the table. He flicked his eyes over his companions and then turned back to Sasuke and placed an order for some of everything, as well as suitable drinks for everyone. Sasuke quickly scampered off, promptly running straight into a - luckily empty - serving trolley, before picking himself up and flushing bright red as he continued to dash away and gather their drinks.
"Poor Sasu-chan... un..." Deidara said, shaking his head sadly, though his eyes were alight with laughter. Itachi smiled at the clumsy teen, not seeing the way his friends all shared a knowing look. He wondered briefly whether Sasuke knew just how amusing he was, or whether it truly was all unintentional, natural clumsy cuteness. He allowed himself one quiet snort of laughter, before smoothing out his features and turning to his fellow hosts.
"I'm looking forward to your mini-pageant tomorrow Kabuto, I have a feeling it's going to be even more enjoyable than normal." He said, earning himself a small evil chuckle from the silver-haired boy.
"Oh... you have no idea." Kabuto said with a smirk. He knew that tomorrow was going to be more fun than normal, for him. Sasuke on the other hand, might not find it quite so enjoyable, but really now - that didn't mean that he was going to change anything. Besides, if he was right - then Sasuke would at least have one buyer at the after pageant auction. Itachi raised a brow at the barely contained laughter, wondering just what it was that his friend had in store for Sasuke - and how good Sasuke would look in his new outfit...
A/N:~ Gomena! I am ever so sorry about the lateness of this chapter, it's been about half ready for a month or so now but I just didn't think the end was right and I wanted to edit it and now I'm not happy with it as it IS and well... I figure if I do anymore it'll just get worse, so this is it for now...
