A/N: Hey, everyone. So, whenever my day hasn't gone that well, I always find making characters suffer (whether they're mine or someone else's) helps. Here you go. I have writer's block with Klexting, but this just popped into my head. And I'm sorry, this is absolutely miserable.
Disclaimer: I own nothing from Glee. Good, if this is what I do with these poor character... (Nor do I own Christina Rossetti's beautiful poem. Or the wedding vows. Do I put that?)
Blaine stood at the podium, the carefully written words in front of him. He looked up at the room of black and saw Carole, Burt and Finn crying ashamedly. Blaine swallowed nervously.
"I love Kurt. I still love him, even if he's gone. To me, he's still here. And- no, he'd kill me if I carried on with this speech."
There was a smattering of laughter. Blaine could still remember their conversation.
"If I die soon, Blaine..."
"Don't say that."
"No, this is important. Please listen. If I die, at my funeral, don't write a whole speech about how much you'll miss me. Just- just read this poem."
Kurt must have known he was going to die soon. Blaine looked back at the paper Kurt had given him that night, willing back the tears. Kurt was going to be so angry if he found out Blaine had cried.
"So, instead, I'm going to read you his favourite poem. Actually, a few months ago, he told -no, ordered- me to read it at his funeral instead of making a speech. And here I am." Blaine cleared his throat.
"When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cyprus tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.
"I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply may I remember,
And haply may forget."
Blaine calmly, almost as if in a trance, walked back to his seat next to Finn.
For better and for worse
For richer and for poorer
In sickness and in health
Until death do us part.
Blaine softly kissed the ring on his left hand, finally letting the tears fall. Kurt would be so mad.
What Blaine would give for Kurt to be mad at him again
Haply may I remember
And haply may forget.
A/N: Yeah. I did say. Anyway, review? It's the only way for me to get better. And also thanks to my beta. * less than three*
