After Mello and Matt left, day's went by quicker, I barely even remember them, I just kinda lived. Near, he was the only one I would talk to, and that was different. I used to love to talk, sing. But that was before they left. Part of me hated Mello, he left. He didn't even consider how I felt about him leaving, and Matt going along with him. all I had left, the only one who stayed.
Within those Four years before we took action, Kira had gotten bigger. I watched as people truly began to see him as a god. But, no. He wasn't a god, he was a hateful demon who killed. Now, some might say I'm being a hypocrite, because B also killed. But remember. He told be that with the use of his shinigami eye's, he could see that they were going to die that day anyway. So, technically, he didn't Murder anyone.
But Kira, was a killer, he killed people, and didn't even think twice. And Light Yagami, was without a doubt, Kira.
Near and I joined the SPK, well, more like he took over. Even though he was a 17 year old boy playing with a robot, his intelligence was far more of that then anyone, other then me, there. So, here we where, about ready to contact the new " L "
I had to laugh at that, no one could be L, he was one of a kind.
" Tallie, please tell Officer Lester to bring my mike." he asked, looking up from his card city. I smiled, " Sure." I walked out of the surveillance room and down to the conference room. I peeked in, " Um.. Officer Lester, could you bring Near his mike?" I asked the blonde man. He looked up, and blinked. " Yes, of course." he said. I nodded and walked back to where Near was finishing part of a roof.
I think, that Near didn't really like L. Maybe it was because he saw how sad I was because my brother wasn't there for me, or because he found the fact he couldn't beat Kira to be pathetic. Whichever one it was, I don't care. Even if Near hated my brother, I owe the albino boy my life.
Although, when I came to Mello, I think Near liked him, having someone who played along in his game with him. Mello was a true rival to Near. Someone who Near could always count on to surprise him. Near, was truly strange in his way of seeing things. But that was one of the many things I liked about him.
I sighed as Near spoke to Light. I didn't feel like listening, I already knew Near didn't really need my help, I just wanted to see the down fall of the man who took so much from me. I wanted to be there when he was caught.
I glanced at Near, before opening my laptop, remember when Watari erased all data? Well, it was actually sent to my computer. I didn't tell Near, only because I never actually read this myself. I opened up the folder on Sinighami, and read.
Shinigami vary widely in appearance, and their bodies are built in ways that would seem impossible by Earthly standards. Shinigami can also save other humans they care about if that person is about to die. But the purpose of a Shinigami is to end life, not give it—any Shinigami who violates this nature will perish.
The main thing all Shinigami have in common is the Death Note. This supernatural notebook allows them to end the lives of humans before their times, adding the human's remaining lifespans to their own. In this manner, a Shinigami can extend their lives indefinitely. To assist in this, their eyes allow them to see the names and remaining lifespans of humans by seeing the faces of their victims.
I was truly surprised on how much information L got. It was truly amazing, he must have talked to the one that was connected to the Death Note he confiscated.
The one we were able to converse with, Rem, told us that the thirteen day rule wasn't real, or fake. She didn't seem to ilaborate on it at all. I suspect the rule is fake. And I intend to prove it. If I die while trying, Light Yagami is not doubt Kira. So, Tallie. Since you are the only person able to reach these files. Please catch him, and bring him to justice. I trust in you and your fellow successors.
I love you, Lilian.
B, he was somehow born with Shinigami eyes. Also, he sees life spans in human time or has learned to read Shinigami time. Any person with possession of Shinigami Eyes cannot see their own lifespan; the same also applies to anyone else who has a Death Note as is what I gathered from my talk with B, and this. So, Light is writing down the names of people, and killing them?
He must've gotten Rem, that one shinigami, to write down L's name in the book. So, does that mean he still had Rem, or another shinigami with him. In stories, shinigami were gods of death. They killed people when it was their time. So, Light was breaking those rules...
I sighed and closed my laptop, this was all very confusing. " Tallie, are you alright?" I looked up and saw Near looking at me from his seat in the chair. I gave a weak grin, " Just a little tired. I'm going to call it a night." It wasn't a lie, I was dead tired. I mean, who wouldn't be after not sleeping for day's?
I guess I adopted some of my brothers quirks, like biting my thumb nail, and lack of sleep. Hell, I even started to eat more Strawberry jam and Cake. I think that it's my own way of keeping them with me, not forgetting. And, sometimes, I sneak some chocolate from the kitchen, or play tetras on my phone..
How else would I keep a little piece of them with me. The only pictures of L, B, and A ever, were in my locket. I stood up and walked over to my room and closed the door. I walked over to the bed, and fell face first..." I hate this..." I grumbled...
I just hoped things got better...
And, soon, I would realize that hoping never really worked anymore. At least. Not for me.
It was a game. Near would do something to Test Kira, and Kira would react with something that would Test Near. For example. The murdering of the FBI agents. They weren't even criminals, Kira just killed them because they were in the way. One of them being Raye Pender.
He was Naomi's husband. I new of her, mostly because of L. I had talked to her briefly during the LABB murder case. Only so I could tell her that B wasn't a killer. Not like she thought. He was just misunderstood. Although, I herd she died as well, so it doesn't matter.
Near took it well, watching as SPK members died all around him. I was in the other room at the time, and walked in to the scene. I didn't say anything, just stared at the lifeless bodies of the workers. The only ones left her Halle, Rester, and Gevanni.
I personally didn't care much for Halle.
Dunno why, just didn't.
Rester treated Near and I like children sometimes. I was almost 20 for gods sake!
So that left Gevanni to talk to when Near was to busy, or passed out on the floor. He was nice, I mean. A good conversationalist. He was about 8 years older then me, and treated me like one would a sister. I found it comforting to say the least. Missing my own brother, and brother figures, he really did help fill that void, even if it was only a little.
I remember him asking once, why I was working with Near. I had smiled and shrugged, " Believe it or not, I owe him my life. And sanity."
He looked at me strange, before dropping the topic. But it was true, without Near. I would surely be insane, with grief, and hate..
Sometimes, I would often wonder, what I would be like if A never committed suicide. Would everything be different? B wouldn't have wanted to get back at L, and then A and him could have helped with the Kira case. Everything would be.. better. I wasn't blaming A, no. I just sometimes wondered...
" So, Mello is in the Mafia? ... Yeah, I can believe he would do that." I nodded. Near looked over to me, " He'll be visiting soon, because we have the picture." he said, twirling a strand of his white hair. I nodded, " Yeah."
Mello would be coming soon, I haven't seen him for so long, would he be okay? What about Matt? I missed them, I really did.
But, like the other times, this would be the last time I talked to Mello. Matt would call me before he pulled that trigger, saying goodbye. I would watch the news, and cry as I saw him shot down.
Later that day, Halle came in at gunpoint, and guess by who? I looked at him and froze. Blonde hair, chocolate brown eye's, and.. A scar.. Without thinking, I pushed Halle out of the way, and tackled Mello into a hug. " Mello!" I cried, holding him tightly. I felt him freeze, then hug me back.
" Hey Tallie." He whispered. I looked up at him and touched his cheek, he flinched, but didn't object. " You leave me for four years, and you scar your face? ... Eh, I think it makes you look Gangsta!" I said, trying to lighten up the mood. He smiled and ruffled my hair, " Shut up, "
We both laughed and I stopped, realizing the others didn't drop their guns.." Um.. Guys? He's cool. He just wanted a picture!" Rester and Gevanni put their guns down, and I sighed, " Honestly, if a man has a gun..."
Mello looked past me, to where the albino boy was sitting. " Near, I want the picture now."
Near picked up the picture and tossed it over, Mello catching it, a part of me wondered if they practiced that..." Since you gave me this, I'll tell you. Shinigami's are real."
" I know-er... Really?"
Everyone looked at me and I laughed nervously, " Well, I might have gotten a email from L, my brother, a couple days ago..." I trailed off, looking away..
Lets just say, Mello left with a grin, and a thing of chocolate in is mouth...
Near sighed, " Tallie, please explain what you know on the matter of Shinigami."
Well, who knew Near could get so annoyed?
We are getting closer to the end. I know this is short... In number of chapters, but if you think about it. I got the idea from the LABB murder cases, and that wasn't to long ether...So... Yah...
