Author's Note: Now we are on lucky number 13… This chapter is all about the interactions of majority of the characters. There is tons of dialogue and adult language. I'll try to stay away from pronouns because there are so many people in this, so please don't get annoyed that you're seeing names so many times. I just don't want anyone to be confused. Hopefully everything makes sense. Also, this is probably my longest chapter…like ever. I love all the nice things people send me about the story and if you have any requests for other stories (or even one shots), I will hear you out. Leave me nice things! Peace & Much Love!

Chapter 13

Saturday Night

"You are wearing those?" Sesshomaru glanced over Kagome in her denim shorts and looked at her like she had lost her mind when she simply nodded, "Your shirt is almost covering those shorts. No."

"It's hot, and I can wear what I want to wear. I have great legs. Might as well show them off." Kagome smiled and kissed his cheek, "You ready?"

Sesshomaru clenched his jaw, "I suppose, but if someone looks at you for too long, I will not hesitate to hit them."

Kagome's eyes widen as she gasped, "Sesshomaru! You will not."

"I will." He opened the car door for her and kissed her, "Without any regret."

"You're so protective. Please behave."

"It is in my nature to protect you, but I will do my best not embarrass or disappoint you. How does that sound?"

"Perfect." She smiled as he drove them to the bowling alley. Kagome sang along to the music and texted her friends.

Koga glanced at his two best friends, shaking his head, "I cannot believe you guys convinced me to take you along."

"We wanna meet this chick!" Ginta yelled over the radio.

"Yeah, plus we like bowling." Laughed Hakkaku, piping into the conversation from the backseat.

"Yeah yeah, just remember, she isn't my girlfriend. Someone else has laid claim to her, but just don't go embarrassing me like you guys normally do."

"We are not embarrassing. You're the weird one." Hakkaku chuckled.

Ginta briefly glanced at Koga who tightened his hands around the steering wheel, "Somebody we know?"

Koga nodded, "Yeah…Sesshomaru…"

"Taisho? Oh man, that family…wow. They are old." Hakkaku shook his head in disbelief, "Well… At least it's good to know she likes dogs…" He laughed as he slapped Koga's shoulder.

Koga growled low, "I am not a dog! He is a dog. All of them, the whole pack of them are just…demons."

"Hey man…chill, we know that we're not dogs… My little brother was making a stupid joke, like always." Ginta glared back at Hakkaku who slowly slid back into his seat.

"I just don't know what she sees in him. Being around him makes me want to change and bite his throat out." Koga growled and shook his head.

Ginta smirked, "Do you think she knows? About us or him?"

"I don't know. We haven't talked about it. It hasn't come up, but I doubt it. I mean she seems like the type to reject it, but also like the type to be okay with it. She's really understanding and nice." Koga smiled.

"What? I can't believe you two haven't talked about it." Ginta turned down the radio, "Usually that's how you introduce yourself." He cleared his throat and gave his best Koga impression, "Hi. I'm Koga Okami and I am the first son of the alpha of the Okami pack…"

Hakkaku snickered but decided against saying anything and continued to scroll through his phone.

"I do not…well, sometimes, when we are around other super natural beings, I do. Kagome is human as far as I can tell. She doesn't make me feel the way the Taisho family does. I feel a sense of calm around her. I can't explain it."

"Seems strange that Lord Sesshomaru is dating a human anyway."

"He isn't a Lord anymore Ginta." Koga parked and got out the car, "Honestly, I could go another century or so without having to see or hear about him."

Hakkaku looked up at Koga, "I mean, you could move…"

"My pack has been here for centuries." Koga growled. "I refuse to move because of some stupid, feral dogs."

Ginta's eyes widen. "Hey Koga…chill, you're starting to um…wolf out…"

Hakkaku looked between the two guys and laughed. Koga shoved both of them and tried not to break a smile as they all walked toward the bowling alley while he dialed Kagome's number.

"Hey! Are you here? A few of us are inside already, just grab your shoes." Kagome finished tying her shoes while she was on the phone with Koga. She stood, smiled, and waved Koga over. "Hi…oh, you didn't say you were bringing anybody."

"I sent you a text…" Koga looked at Kagome in her white and purple plaid shirt and denim shorts, "Didn't you get it?"

Kagome chuckled, "You were texting me nonstop, I guess I missed it. I'm so sorry." She turned to the two guys next to Koga, "Hi I'm Kagome."

Ginta smiled which was a rare occurrence nowadays, "Uh, hey I'm Ginta. This is my little brother…"

"Hakkaku." He smiled and pulled Kagome into a hug, "It's so nice to me you finally. Koga never shuts up about you at work."

Kagome chuckled, "Oh that's nice. Let's go pay for another lane. Not everyone from the volleyball team is here anyway." Kagome grabbed Koga's arm and went back up front to get another lane.

Ginta looked at his brother, "Koga was right. I do feel calm."

"Almost tame, and she is very pretty." They went around their lanes to pick out bowling balls and wait for everyone.

Sesshomaru cleared his throat and put the food down on the table where the two guys sat, talking to one another and waiting for everyone. Sango and Ayumi were following close behind with drinks and a number for the table, so they could bring the rest of the food out.

"Hello."

Ginta immediately stood, "Hello..hey, we…we're with Koga and Kagome." He pointed.

Sesshomaru followed his finger and saw Kagome and Koga standing in line, laughing and talking. He growled, "Of course. Should have known." And he should have noticed when Koga and his pack of wild creatures came in, but he was preoccupied. He silently cursed himself for getting distracted with Kagome's teammates trying to get food.

"Hi I'm Ayumi, and this is Sango. We play volleyball with Kagome."

Ginta smiled, "Uh this is Hakkaku, and I'm Ginta."

"Nice to meet you." Sango smiled and bit into a mozzarella stick, "Where's Kags?"

"Uh she went to get another lane. I suspect more people are coming." Ginta smiled.

Sesshomaru groaned and sighed, "Excellent."

"Sesshomaru… I still can't believe you're here." Sango laughed, "You never came to anything when you were dating Kagura."

"I did not date her."

Sango rolled her eyes, "Whatever you say, but that's not really how she tells it."

Hakkaku laughed, "I'm going to go order me a burger."

Ayumi smiled, "I'll come too." She got up and followed Hakkaku. She answered her phone while she waited in line with the cute boy.

Sango glanced at her phone and sighed, "I cannot believe this. Guys are stupid. Where is Kagome?"

"I'm here. What did he do this time?" Kagome hugged Sango and pulled her down to enter everyone's names into the machine and so they could talk in private. Sesshomaru watched as Sango and Kagome chatted about Sango's crush.

"Hey man, good to see you again." Koga slapped Sesshomaru's shoulder and sat down next to him, "It's been a while." He joked.

Sesshomaru side-eyed him and growled, "Take your filthy hand off me before I break your wrist…now."

"Woah, no need to get all worked up now Lord Sesshomaru." Koga laughed mockingly and looked at him, whispering, "She doesn't know, does she?"

"No."

"And I suspect you want to keep it that way, so how about trying to act civil?" Koga smirked and looked at Sesshomaru, "I don't want any more bad blood between us."

"Then stay away from her."

"You know as much as I do that I cannot. We're friends. Kags and I are really good friends now, and I'm not done helping her in a way you can't"

Sesshomaru growled and clenched his fists, "I should kill you." He whispered through his tightened jaw.

"You won't. And I don't want you to. I just want you to know that I remember what you are, and I know your family secret is precious to you, so you're going to be nice to me and accept the fact that she likes having me around." Koga stood up and smiled, "Hey Kags… I think the rest of your teammates are here!"

Kagome clapped, "Yay! Guys over here!"

Koga smiled and watched more girls come to the table. "Hey Ginta, maybe you'll find someone you like."

"Maybe you will too Koga." Sesshomaru commented.

Koga glared at Sesshomaru, but said nothing else because Kagome was coming up to meet and introduce everyone. "Ayumi there you are! Hey everyone!"

Sango smiled, "Hi guys! Thank you all so much coming. We'll make quick rounds, introduce everyone and pick teams! If this works out, we can do it again!"

"I'll go first, so I can pick the best people for my team!" A tall red head stood up, "I'm Ayame, and I just want to say that I am so excited to hang out with you guys."

"I'm Ginta…and that's Hakkaku. We are friends with Koga who is friends with Kagome." Ginta really hoped he would not have to introduce himself anymore. He was quite tired of it, but these girls were pretty. He could bet on himself having a good time, even if he did forget just about everyone's name.

Kagome smiled and waved, "Hi…this is my boyfriend Sesshomaru, but I'm sure you've seen him around school." Sesshomaru merely nodded.

"I'm Eri, and this is Yuka. We're also on the volleyball team…duh."

Yuka laughed, "Forgive my friend, She's silly." Yuka picked off some fries out of the basket. "Let's get started!"

After everyone introduced themselves, and they divided into teams. Sesshomaru made it clear that he wanted to challenge Koga. Kagome sighed and rolled her eyes at the two guys. She didn't know what she was going to with them.

Rin and Kanna, the smallest two of the bunch, were first up. Everyone seemed to be getting along. Cheering and singing with everyone, attempting to have a good time.

After a few rounds, Koga smiled and stood up, "Hey Kags, you want another soda?"

"Oh please! Thanks!" Kagome smiled and got up for her turn.

"I can get it for you Kagome." Sesshomaru stood and glanced at Koga, who was already

gone to the counter. "What do you think you are doing?"

"Being a better boyfriend than you." Koga laughed, "And so far, so good."

"I will kill you."

"Again, I doubt it. I really doubt it." Koga grabbed the two drinks and looked at Sesshomaru, "Why are you being like this?"

"Because of you."

"Oh…instinct." Koga laughed, "Duh! Sorry man. You think she's the one?"

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome, laughing and talking to her new friends and teammates, and shrugged, "Perhaps. I do not want to ruin her human life. She has much going for her. She has so much ahead of her. To be mated to me would put an end to normalcy as she knows it."

"Yeah, she's amazing. From what I know." Koga slightly smiled at the thought of her and started walking back to the group, "Just do right by her, and tell her the truth soon."

Sesshomaru just grunted and handed Kagome her drink, "For you."

"Thanks!" She smiled and kissed his cheek, "It's your turn!"

Sango grabbed Kagome as she took a sip of her drink, "He wants to meet me!"

Kagome looked at Sango, "Who?"

"Who? WHO?" Sango's voice grew louder, and by now, Yuka and Eri were coming over to the girls, "That guy I told you about…"

"Oh right right… Do it." Kagome smiled.

"Yeah totally!" Yuka shrugged and finished eating the fries, "I mean, it's summer. Time to have fun."

Eri nodded, "Oh most definitely! Meet him here! At least then we'll be here in case he's a total weirdo."

Kagome looked at Sango, "Better here than somewhere alone." She smiled, "Do it. Or I'll do it for you."

"No! I'll do it." Sango took out her phone and called her mystery guy.

"One more round!" Ayumi shouted, and Hakkaku laughed and clapped in agreement.

Ayame looked at the pair, "Aren't you guys sick of losing? Koga and I are awesome!" She smiled and looked at Koga.

"I could go for another round. What about you Kagome?" Koga glanced at his friend.

"Huh?" Kagome was deep in thought it seemed, "Sure! I'm down. Is that okay Sesshomaru?"

Sesshomaru nodded, "Yes. Excuse me. This is work. We can play teams." He picked up his phone and walked towards the exit.

Kagome sat down, singing to the song playing overhead.

"Okay, he's on his way."

"What's his name? What do you know about him?"

"Well he goes to our high school. He works for some company or with one of friends at some fashion company. I don't know; we hardly ever talk about work. His name is Miroku."

"Miroku!?" Kagome's jaw dropped a little, "No way! Sango! He works with me! Well, not with me, but like we work in the same building. At least that's the only Miroku I know."

Sango looked at Kagome, "No way! You know him? What's he like? Is he nice?"

"Sango…I don't know. We hardly talked. I mean, he gave me my interview, but I don't know. Didn't you say he goes to our school? Why don't you know him?"

Sango shrugged and looked at Kagome, "Honestly, I didn't pay attention. Like, I never noticed him I guess, but he says he's a senior. And he's even seen me play volleyball, but honestly, Kagome, the only thing I know about him is that he's a pervert."

Kagome blinked in disbelief at Sango, "Okay, calm down. It'll be all right. It may just be a misunderstanding. He seems nice enough around the office, and if he tries anything, just hit him." The black-haired beauty smiled at her friend reassuringly, "We'll all be here for you."

Sango hugged her quickly, "Thanks! I don't know how we became such fast friends, but thank you!"

"It's all the time in that hot gym. Makes us delusional." Kagome laughed.

Sesshomaru interrupted, "My apologies ladies, but I believe someone is here for you Sango."

"Oh. Thanks!" Sango smiled and moved around Sesshomaru to see an average guy dressed in a black shirt, jeans, and black boots with his hair in a top knot. "Hi." She waved.

He stared for a little while before responding, "Hello Sango."

Sango looked back at Kagome, who gave her a smile and a thumbs up, "Let's go to the arcade."

"Sounds good to me." Miroku took her hand and lead her through the crowd.

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru, "Did you know he was talking to Sango?"

"I did not know her name, but he has not stopped talking about her for a while."

"Wow. Small world."

Sesshomaru nodded, "Our game is waiting for us."

"Right! Let's have fun!" Kagome returned to the bowling area where Ayame, Koga, and the rest of their ragtag group of teenagers were talking. Koga immediately pulled away from Ayame when Kagome went to grab her ball. He looked at her as she shouted, "Is it my turn yet?"

Koga nodded and smiled, "Sure is. You're only in third place…you could catch up, if you're good…"

Kagome tossed the ball down the alley and looked away, "I totally suck. Why are you so good at this?" She looked at Koga who gave her an encouraging smile.

He shrugs, "Me and the guys come here from time to time. Practice makes perfect."

As if on cue, Ginta and Hakkaku high fived and jigged a victory dance, "We won! Oh yeah! We won!" They laughed as the girls attacked them with shouts of them cheating and banter mixed with laughter. "Better luck next time girls." Kagome was happy that everyone was getting along. This was the first time in a long time she felt as if she belonged. She smiled at everyone and continued to play, cheering and booing when necessary.

Sango came back with Miroku when the games were over, "Hey guys! How'd it go?"

Kagome shrugged, "I'm going to stick to volleyball for sure…"

Rin and Kanna nodded, "Yeah us too, but we had a blast."

"We should definitely do this again…" Eri smiled, "Well…"

"Maybe not bowling. Oh, what if we go to the park?" Yuka suggested, finishing a milkshake and smiling.

Rin nodded, "Yeah…maybe play like Twister and have a picnic.."

"Oooh, a bonfire." Kanna smiled, "We can do it at my house. We've got an acre or so."

"That's quite a drive Kanna." Sango pointed out and moved closer to Miroku as the girls continued to discuss plans.

Kanna was silent for a minute, "We can sleep in the barn."

"Sleepover!" Eri shouted.

"I'll ask my parents, but I think they'll go for it."

Sango smiled, "Yeah, Kagome and I are almost 18, We can come and make sure you guys don't start a big fire."

"That does sound fun. Maybe the weekend before school. We can discuss what to bring later. Right now, I am tired." Kagome stifled back a yawn and stretched.

"Sounds good. Be on the lookout for a group text about it." Sango smiled.

Rin smiled, "Practice resumes on Monday!"

Kanna nudged Rin and laughed, "Way to kill the fun vibe."

"Hey!" Rin protested, "I wanna be good this season." She looked down at her phone, "Come on my mom is out there. She's going to take you home." Kanna nodded, and both girls gave everyone hugs and left.

Everyone exchanged their shoes and went outside. Sesshomaru glanced at Kagome who told him to head to the car so she could say goodbye to everyone.

Ayame lingered around Koga while Ginta and Hakkaku said bye to Ayumi and Yuki. Ayame definitely had a crush and felt some sort of pull towards Koga, but she didn't know why.

Koga walked over to Kagome and hugged her, "Thanks for inviting us, well me and accepting my friends along the way."

Kagome smiled, "It was no problem. It was fun! I'm so glad I got to meet them. You guys seem close."

"We grew up together…we do just about everything together." Koga shrugged, "I'll see you soon to work on the thing."

"Okay! Tomorrow?"

"Probably not, I've got work all day, and I don't know what the week will look like yet, but I will let you know of course."

Kagome nodded and hugged him again, "Thanks again Koga."

"No problem Kags. Anytime you need me, call me." Koga fished his keys out of his pocket and slightly howled, grabbing the attention of Ginta and Hakkaku, "Let's go boys!"

Kagome waved and moved over to Ayumi and Yuka, "You like them?"

"Most definitely." Ayumi smiled.

Yuka shrugged, "He's nice to look at I suppose." She watched as the boys jumped into a black jeep.

Ayumi looked at Kagome, "How do you find these boys?"

Kagome shrugged and laughed, "I don't know. Lucky I guess."

"We're definitely keeping you around if you come with boys that look like that." Yuka laughed and hugged Kagome, "Get home safe."

"Of course. You too girls." Kagome waved and turned to say goodbye to Ayame, but she already took off it seemed.

Sesshomaru waited inside the car and tried not to pay too much attention to Kagome and Koga parting ways. He knew he should tell her about what he was and what it meant. He looked down at his hands and flexed out his claws, but for some reason, he just could not bring himself to do it. He did not want her to look at him like the monster he thought himself to be after so many centuries of torture. He clenched his jaw and sighed, watching his hands shift back to normal.

Kagome tapped on the window and pulled on the door handle, "Hey babe…"

Sesshomaru unlocked the door, "My apologies." He smiled, "I thought they were unlocked."

"Did you have fun?" Kagome strapped in her seatbelt as he pulled out of the parking lot.

"I did. Thank you for inviting me." Sesshomaru was unusually quiet, but Kagome decided not to press the issue. "I have to stop for gas. I was caught up with InuYasha, and it slipped my mind."

"That's no problem." Kagome smiled, "I can get a coke and some candy!"

"Fair enough." Sesshomaru pulled into a gas station and got out of his car, "Be quick about it. I hate being here at night."

Kagome smiled, "Roger that!" She took her phone and wallet inside to get her treats.

Sesshomaru stood outside, monitoring the screen as the numbers climbed higher and higher. He glanced back at the building, trying to get a view of Kagome. He spotted the top of her head, weaving up and down aisles. He turned back and finished getting gas. Kagome had yet to leave the store, so Sesshomaru walked in to help her decide which candy or soda she wanted. He was sure her indecisiveness was the reason for the hold up.

"Sesshomaru! No!" Kagome cried from the floor.

Sesshomaru looked around, assessing the situation before him, "Sir, put down the gun."

"Who the fuck are you?" The gunman shouted, "Get down and shut up!"

"I cannot do that, you see, I have curfew." Sesshomaru spoke calmly and walked closer to the man in the mask, "And I have to get my girlfriend home as well."

"I don't give a fuck about any of you! I just want your damn money!" He frantically waved the gun around and aimed it at the cashier who seemed to be taking his sweet time getting all the money out of the registers.

Sesshomaru took this time of distraction to lunge at the gunman, and with a flash and a bang, everything changed for Sesshomaru and Kagome. Something different had occurred before them.
