He enters her rooms and sets down next to her bed. He reaches for a hand and takes it into his large one. Her hand is tough, but, yet, so delicate.

So innocent...

So sweet...

Her blond hair is fanned across the pillow. Her skin is pale and untouched. She looks like an angel fallen from heaven.

He watches her breath. Up, down. Inhale, exhale. It looks so lovely. It makes her alive.

He touches her wrist. He can feel her pulse. Her heart is beating, beating. It's strong and steady, not weak. That's good. Now he can relax a little.

Maybe...

He kisses her forehead. It's warm, not cold. It's another sign that she's alive.

Alive, not dead.

She's fully alive.

She's just in a trance. She's in a dreamland. Any day now, she'll come out of it.

Any day, now.

"What are you doing here?" a loud voice demands from the doorway.

He looks at the angry Healer.

"Only family is allowed in here!"
He thinks about claiming that he is family, but he can't. The Healer know who he is. His picture is in every magazine under the sun. That's what he got for playing for the Falmouth Falcons.

"Get out!" the Healer screams. She takes out her wand.

"But, I'm-," he starts in.

She throws a jinx at him. "I don't care who you are. If you're not family, then no entrance."

He stands up and casts one last look at his sleeping beauty.

Once they both are outside, the Healer softens. "Look, dear, I'm sorry, but I can't let you in. It's hospital policy."

He nods understanding.

The Healer touches him gently. "But she will be okay."

"She'll live?" he inquires.

"Yes, and when she wakes up, she'll be demanding to see you."

He perks up. His sleeping beauty was going to be okay. It didn't matter that he couldn't see her, just as long as she heals.

That is all that matters.
