Alex's Point of View

Somebody shook my shoulder softly.

"Alex, Alex wake up," I heard a familiar voice. "Alex."

I moaned, and then my eyes slowly opened.

There was a dark figure above me, after seconds my eyes got use to the darkness and then I could see the person.

"Daniel?" I whispered my voice groggy from the sleep.

"Babe, why are you on the floor?" He asked sliding his arms underneath me carrying me to my bed.

He took the crumpled note in my hand and placed it somewhere else.

"I... I just…," I started and then started to sob.

"Shhh what's wrong? Don't cry," He said lying with me on my bed.

He pulled me on top of him, my face on his cheek; he touched my cheek and wiped away the tears with one of his finger tip.

I closed my eyes.

"When was the last time you slept?" He asked. "You look so tired."

"Two... three…," I said hiding my face a little. "I'm sorry I didn't text you back… or called you…I had… something came up…"

"Shh, get some sleep, you can tell me everything in the morning," He murmured.

I looked up at him, tears glisten on my cheek.

"I'm not mad at you I promise, I was just worried," He said pulling the covers over us.

"Kay," I whispered sleepily.

I closed my eyes.

Then the dark night fell over me.

Daniel's Point of View

I watched her as her eyes slowly close; I touched the tears on her eye lids and the tear gleam on her dark eye lash.

What's wrong with her? Why is she crying? What's hurting her?

I wanted to find out before she tells me.

I then slowly lifted her off me slowly trying not to wake her. And then tucked her under the blanket, protecting her from the cold night.

Her room was dark but the moon's light little lights through her open window. I walked around her room quietly thinking, then remember the piece of paper she had in her hand when I found her.

I walked over to her desk where I placed the piece of paper. I took it in my hand, the paper was crumpled, and it had tear smudges on it so the words on the paper were a little hard to read. I read the words in my head:

Alexandra,

Please listen to me carefully you have to call the police now. Tell them I am held prisoner in the house next to the lyndsey Mansion, if you don't tell them quick then many people will die next Friday. These men are dangerous they will do anything to kidnap you and Clarissa and use you as a will against mine. Please my dear keep hidden, these men are dangerous, they will find you and they will kill you. Keep hidden, be safe. If anything happen to you and your mother…. Please … miss you much, I am sorry for everything.

I Love you,

Dad

I tried to keep my breathing even and straight. How could this be? Alex's dad? But he disappeared ten years ago… how did he manage to send her a letter now? After all these years? What men is he talking about? Alex in danger?

All these questions that needed to be answered ran through my mind. Has she called the police yet? Or even tried? I need answers and needed them quick. Why was this happening? Why now?
