Hello, everybody. Here's a one-shot of Lizzie/Herbie. Here we go.
A few days have passed since Lizzie Devine broke up with Nigel Uno. Even though she was happy about the breakup, she felt strangely sad about it. She didn't know why she felt this way. Maybe it was because, even though Nigel blew her off for KND, he was the only one that actually somewhat cared for her. While she hated to say it, she wasn't the most popular girl in school and she didn't have any friends. Sure, there was Numbuh 10, but she lived in a whole different state.
As she sat on the park bench, watching several other groups of friends playing their own silly games, she begun to think maybe the breakup was a bad idea.
"Hey. Are you okay?"
Hearing the sound of the nerdy voice, she turned her head to see a familiar chubby boy with glasses. "Herbie? What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if you were okay. You've been looking pretty upset lately."
"It's about stupid Nigel Uno! I thought breaking up with him would be a relief, but I…I…Oh, what do you care? No one cares about me!"
"That's not true, Lizzie! I care about you!"
"Well, yeah…I mean, we have a lot in common. Most people never like hanging around me either. Plus, I can't remember the last time I actually went out for recess instead of doing extra credit work!"
She giggled at this.
"Ah, now there's a smile!" The chubby nerd boy then went to take a seat by Lizzie. "Anyway, I'm sorry about your breakup with Nigel Uno. But I'm sure you'll find another boyfriend someday!"
"I don't know…I don't think it was a boyfriend that I wanted…but just a friend who wants to hang out with me."
"Well, if you want…I can be your friend!"
"Yeah! I know I sort of have Kids Next Door duties, too…but I always thought that friends should come first, you know?"
"Well, that is sort of admirable about Nigel. When he blows me off, I guess he does sort of need to help his friends on missions. And I'm sure he wouldn't abandon them to fight for some intergalactic organization for alien kids, you know? That would just be silly!"
"Uh…yeah, that…would be an awful coincidence, wouldn't it? Eh hehehehe!"
"What's wrong with you?"
"Er, nothing. Hey, wanna go get some ice cream? And maybe do some homework together?"
"Sure! Then when we're done, we can go swing on the swing sets?"
"Sounds great!" With that, the two went off to get some ice cream. However, as their ways go, they wouldn't be getting it so easily.
Well, there you go. Now to get back to Monty. But first, I must say: what a waste of a second account.
