Near Perfect

It surprised him how much people liked Jim. How could they not? In Kenzan's opinion, he was pretty much perfect which annoyed him to no end. He would easily befriend people and animals alike. He was handsome, charming, and could make any girl fall in love with him. It still annoyed him. He was also annoyed by how intriguing he was and how funny he was.

"Idiot," Kenzan mumbled to himself. "Idiot, idiot, idiot!"

"Who's the idiot?" a voice popped up. Kenzan jumped a bit before turning around to see Jim standing there with a bright smile that, once again, made his heart pound. He glared at him, turning away from him, so he was staring at the ocean instead.

"You," he said perfectly and clearly.

Jim let out a laugh, "I'm the idiot?"

"Yes," Kenzan mumbled, his cheeks becoming slight red. He turned to Jim, a scowl present on his face. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"What? Is this field with such a great view of the beach restricted?" Jim asked, raising an eyebrow. Kenzan continued to scowl at him while Jim just chuckled, taking a seat next to Kenzan. "I came to see you."

"Huh?" Kenzan turned to him, blinking. Karen let out a soft growl as Jim set her down. He turned to Kenzan, the smile never leaving his face.

"You asked what I was doing here. I came to see you," Jim answered once again. His grin faded, but it still stayed there. "Do you not want me here?"

"No!" Kenzan immediately shouted before his eyes widened. Even Jim appeared taken aback by the sudden shout. Kenzan bit his lip before sitting up straight, a prideful expression sticking to his face. "I need some time with other people."

"Oh?" Jim's smile turned into a mischievous grin. "Don't you spend enough time with your aniki?"

"Why are you dragging aniki into this?" Kenzan narrowed his eyes. Juudai was his first love until he set his eyes on Jim. He loved Juudai as his aniki though. His biggest completion was Shou at the time, who was his best friend. It then became Johan. After he met Jim though, nothing really mattered. He had no rivals, well he had many girl rivals, but they had no chance. In fact, his biggest rival had to be Karen.

"You two are just really close," Jim told him, a distant expression in his eye. "I'm kinda jealous of you for that."

"Jealous? Why would you, calm and peaceful Jim, be jealous of me?" Kenzan raised an eyebrow. "If anything, I'm jealous of you."

"Why?"

"Because you're so calm and down to earth," Kenzan sighed. "I'm always causing fights. I was a bully before I came here."

"So? That's the past."

Kenzan scowled at him, "Shut up."

Jim blinked before chuckling, "Alright. I will."

Kenzan sat up straight, turning to Jim, who was completely silent. He stared at the beach with soft eyes and a small smile. Kenzan blushed at the expression. He slowly leaned forward, pressing his lips against Jim's cheek. Jim blinked, once again, turning to Kenzan with a questioning look.

"T-that was a thank you for shutting up," Kenzan mumbled with a small blush.

Jim laughed, "I better be silent more often then."

Kenzan's eyes widened as his blush deepened, "S-shut up!"

"Okay!" Jim grinned, leaning his cheek towards Kenzan a bit. Kenzan narrowed his eyes before standing up and walking away.

Jim pouted, "Hey, where's my present?"

"You can't be greedy!" Kenzan shouted back before running off. Jim smiled before chuckling. Kenzan really was one of a kind.

Sorry it's really short. I didn't really want to write a long one anyway. I wanted to write something short and sweet.
