In celebration of Final Destination 5 and Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2, here's a little ficlet about Harry and Death.

There's Someone, Walking Behind You.

By Dean the Cuddly Fox

They where all supposed to die that night, sixteen years ago. But Death had miscalculated the love Lily Potter Nee Evans had for her firstborn son Harry. That, and the fact that he was the last living descendant of that damned Ignotus Perverall. How could he have given away his cloak? Oh well. He got his revenge on the child. He followed him every where he went. Taking lives of those who cared for him. First was a little girl he made friends with in primary school. She died in a car wreck weeks after meeting him.

Then was the boy Cedric Diggory. He had to admit he was rather impressed when the boy escaped his clutches yet again after being bitten by the most poisonous snake on earth. This took the cake. He dueled with a man he had been after for years. But Tom Riddle had feared him so much, that he took horrific precautions against seeing him. This ensured his escort straight to hell. For no mortal should ever have immortality. Unless it was gained without the splitting of souls like Nicholas Flamel's Philosopher's Stone.

Next came Sirius Black. The boy's godfather and one of the last remaining links to his parents. Do you think it was by his own choice that Black came to fight in the Department of Mysteries? Hah! That was all Death's doing. And sure enough, like his own little puppet, Sirius Black fell to Bellatrix Lestrange in the Death Chamber and he claimed the last living Black heir as his own.

Then came the big one. Albus Dumbledore. The Leader of the Light. The very essence of Hope for many who feared Tom Riddle. He had hoped that this death in particular would make the boy wish for Death to come take him. But to his surprise, it only added to his determination to bring Tom Riddle down.

Then he claimed many of his friends and family and schoolmates during his hunt for Tom Riddle's pieces of soul and during the Battle of Hogwarts including one Fred Fabien Weasley. To Death's great shock, he had decided to give himself to the Dark Lord.

There is someone...walking behind you...turn around...look at me.

Death watched in silence as Harry Potter walked to the Dark Forest right to Tom Riddle. And saw Tom Riddle raise his wand.

"Harry Potter. The Boy Who Lived." Tom Riddle sneered. "AVADA KEDAVRA!"

Yes! Death thought. He's mine at last! But wait...what is this? He was suddenly in a white space. Ah, it is not his time yet? Have I made a mistake by following him all these years? Wait...what was that? He saw a piece of soul underneath a bench. That means I can finally claim Tom Riddle! Death thought excitedly. Very well. If by some miracle this boy can deliver Tom Riddle to me, I shall spare him as I did his ancestor, all those centuries ago.

And so he did. And the survivors of the Battle of Hogwarts all cheered, danced, mourned for their loved ones, and partied for two days and nights.

One day, I shall come for you Harry Potter. Death thought as the young boy, now a man celebrated with his friends and family. And I hope, that you shall be ready for me.

There is someone...walking behind you...turn around...look at me...

The End

Wow...I surprised myself with this story. Who knew I could write like this?

I don't own the lyrics used in the story or HP or Final Destination.
