Announcer guy: Fine
Miss Author does not own Vampire Kisses.
Author: Ok, you are finished.*announcer guy disappears*
Author: I hope you enjoy this! It's really fun to write! Also I'm sorry that I didn't post on Cullen Truth or Dare! I just wanted to start another story! And I'm thinking about changing my username since I really don't like it. Any suggestions?
I should probably introduce myself.
I am Emily Rosa Mayhem, 16 year old girl. I love my mommy so much, but I don't know who my father is. My mom said that he left her right after I was born. My mother is a mortal, and my father must have been a vampire. Because I am a half-vampire.
I have lived in the dull town of Dullsville my whole life as far as I'm aware, and I am going to bolt as soon as possible. Preferably after I graduate.
I am an average student, not on honor roll but not failing. School doesn't interest me much. I am so much better at playing instruments and singing. My mother doesn't mind me not being the top student, she knows I have difficulty with books. She encourages my music, probably because she hopes that I become a star one day. I don't really want to, I want to become a song writer one day. Enough of my babble. Let's get on with my story.
I popped in my ear buds, and scrolled through the songs on my iPod nano. I landed on Evanescence's Going Under. I hummed along as I rode my skateboard to school.
I picked up my board, and tucked it under my arm. My messy black curls were up in a ponytail, so it didn't fall in my face for once.
I was dressed in a pair of black jeans and a black t-shirt that had I RULZ written across it in gray letters. I didn't wear any makeup, since I wasn't practiced in the art of applying makeup within 5 minutes. I didn't have time to do anything but get dressed, gulp a glass of blood, and grab my books, since I was running extremely late.
I ran inside the school, dumping my stuff into my locker. I grabbed my English homework and ran through the mostly empty hallways, making my way towards the English classroom.
I was through the doorway just as the bell rang. I plopped down next to Raven Madison, my best friend.
(A/N Becky doesn't exist in this story…. Sorry!)
She leaned over and whispered, "Bout time you got here."
I giggled and whispered back, "My alarm clock was snoozing." My alarm clock was my mother, and she overslept this morning, making me oversleep. Not that I was complaining on the extra sleep, but having to rush through everything in your morning routine isn't all that fun.
"Mom overslept again?" she asked quietly. The teacher was talking, and we weren't paying her any attention.
"Miss Mayhem? Miss Madison? Pay attention." the teacher said sternly.
Raven and I looked at each other, and rolled our eyes. We didn't care much for this class.
"As I was saying, I'm going to be switching around some seating," she started, when the class (Raven and I included) groaned. We hated new seating arrangements.
Before the teacher could say anything more, a guy with white hair with black streaks walked in. His hair reminded me of a panda bear. He worn torn black jeans, and a t-shirt that had a big skull on it.
"Sorry I'm late, I overslept." he said with a grin.
"That's fine, Claude. You might as well stay standing, we are changing seats anyway." she said, batting her eyelashes. I almost gagged, that was so sick.
"Is he new?" I whispered to Raven.
"No, you haven't noticed him yet?" she asked back quietly, yet frantically.
"No I haven't. You know I'm usually the last person in this room, and I never remember seeing him." I whispered back.
I don't pay much attention to anyone these days, besides Raven and my mom. Mom loves Raven, and Raven loves mom. They get along great, considering Raven and I are so close in personality.
"Students, stand up please and gather your things." the teacher said.
We all reluctantly stood up, and grabbed our books.
Raven and I didn't pay any attention to her, instead, we were talking about her rocking new bracelet that she had gotten online. We were discussing on going on a shopping trip sometime when we heard our names.
"Raven and Emily, you might as well stay there since you will talk anyway." Mrs. Miller said.
"She finally learned." I whispered. We have spent too many years talking no matter how far we sat apart that the teachers gave up on us.
"Claude, you can sit next to Emily." Mrs. Miller said, gesturing to the seat next to me.
Said Claude walked over and plopped into the seat next to me.
"I'm Claude." he whispered with a grin.
"No shit Sherlock." I whispered back. Mrs. Miller had just said his frickin name, I think I would know it by now.
"That's not nice. You're Emily, right?" he said.
I nodded, pretending to be engrossed in the teacher. He didn't talk to me after that for the rest of the class, since I actually decided to pay attention. I was trying to raise my grades, since I was on the edge of a C-, and I promised my mom I would try to get a B at least.
I walked through the halls with Raven, heading to our lockers.
"Do you have any food in your lockers?" I asked her. I was starving (I needed food along with blood), and I didn't eat anything besides a glass of blood.
"I have a granola bar." she said, rummaging around in her messy locker and pulling out a chocolate covered Chewy Dipp. I pleaded with my eyes for her to give it to me.
She gave in and held it out.
"I'm only giving this to you because you're my friend." she said as I devoured it.
"Hello Raven, Emily." I heard a voice say, and I turned around to face Claude.
I decided to tease him and play dumb.
"And who are you?" I asked with fake innocence, my big brown eyes full of sarcasm.
"Either you are playing stupid or you really are stupid." he said.
"Either you really are an idiot, or- oh wait, you really are." Raven said, obviously she didn't like him.
"I didn't even come over here to talk to you, Raven. I came here to get to know Miss Emily here." he said.
I looked up at him. "Really?" I said, raising an eyebrow. In everything in life, I have been picked last. The kids didn't like me because I dressed different. Like Raven. And that's why we ended up together as best friends.
"So….what's your next class, Emily?" he asked."Art." I said. My favorite class (they didn't offer music at my school).
"That's my class too! Maybe we could walk together!" he said excitedly. I rolled my eyes at his childishness.
"No she isn't/ Just go away, back to your gang." Raven said, almost shoving him away.
"What's wrong with me talking to Emily, Raven? Is it because you're jealous?" Claude asked, teasing now.
"Oh hell no! I wouldn't have a reason to be jealous over you, right Emily. Emily?" she asked, but I wasn't listening. I was rummaging through my locker for my favorite pencil that was decorated in pandas. "Where is my pencil?" I asked myself loudly.
"The one in your pocket, Em?" Raven asked, eyebrow raised. I reached into my pocket and found my pencil!
"Thanks. I just had a blonde moment, without being blonde." I said, snickering at myself.
Claude ended up walking with us, and we chatted about ourselves. Raven didn't contribute any, I had a vague feeling she hated him.
I found out his last name was Sterling, and that he was from Romania. He found out that my middle name was Rosa, and my last name was Mayhem.
We arrived at our class, almost late. Raven and I skipped to our seats, and Claude took his in the very back.
"Ok class, today, just go loose and do whatever. You can paint, draw, sketch, whatever." she said. I smiled. I loved these days.
I sketched Raven, and she sketched me. We giggled and talked the whole entire time. The period ended all too soon, then came one of the most dreaded classes of all: Gym.
Author: I hoped you liked this chapter! I suck at descriptions, don't I? It's one of my weaknesses as an author. L. As I said earlier, I was planning on changing my username, so please leave some suggestions. Oh, and review, telling me what you think of my new story! I love you all! GOODNIGHT WORLD!
Announcer guy: Weren't you supposed to be in bed like an hour ago?
*announcer guy disappears*
Author: I actually should have been in bed an hour ago... but oh well. Nightie night.
