I am extremely mad at my computer right now! I had a whole entire chapter written up and it decides to do a little crashing stunt that made me lose it! I only had time for that one chapter too! GRRR!
Okay, rant over! So thanks for all of the reviews, favorites, and follows! They really mean a lot to me since I enjoy how you all like this story! At one point, I was about to give up on it, but now I am sure that I'm going to finish it! I personally don't think that it will be anytime soon when I will complete this story (probably not until another couple of months, if I update a lot). It'll be a long story. I'm also not sure how exactly I'm going to end it. At one point I had a general idea and I got another idea while just sitting there listening to music one day and I got another idea for the ending.
Eh, I'll figure it out later.
"What kind of powers are we talking about here?" I asked my mom in curiosity. I suppose that I'm cool with the whole idea, but the fact that I have no clue what they are kind of bothers me. I'm a curious person, leave me alone!
"Well, it really depends on what you obtained from both your father and I, plus what you obtained on your own. In every generation of an angel or demon, they naturally gain a new power. You can either gain everything from both of us, or you only gain a few." she explained.
"Well, what kind of powers would that include?" I asked again. I held back a bite of irritation. I didn't ask how I would get the powers, I asked what powers there were!
"Well, that would include being able to control the elements with lightning included, manipulating plants, manipulating the weather," she started. "Plus there are tons of lost spirits at your command."
I cocked an eyebrow. I didn't realize that I'd have that many powers. But, how do I even have powers? I have had no sign of them!
Deciding to voice this, I asked, "How am I able to have powers? I have never had any sign of them."
She shook her head and sighed.
"When you were born, before your father came, I managed to get a magical lock put on you. A lock being something that makes your powers dormant until you truly need them. Once that lock is broken, you have free reign of your powers. I tried putting a lock on your brother but your father got there and took him before I could." she said sadly. "I was trying to protect you two."
"Protect us from what?" I asked curiously.
"From your father." she said. "He's how most people refer to him as the prince of darkness. He's not necessarily a very good guy. And I didn't want your powers, inherited and new, to fall into his hands. He managed to get a hold of your brother, but without you he won't be able to..." she started, before pressing her lips shut.
"Won't be able to what?" I asked. You just don't not complete a sentence as big and important as that one, Mom.
"Won't be able to come up here to the mortal realm and take over." she whispered, as if afraid we would be overheard.
"What?!" I screamed. "Come up here?!"
"Don't shout so loud! They could be watching us now," she whispered, looking towards her window.
A sudden question popped into my mind, and my mouth just decided to go ahead and ask it.
"Mom, why haven't you used your powers at all?" I asked her.
She smiled slightly.
"As I have said before, because at one point I loved your father, I gave up my wings. And, like you, I won't be able to get them back until I need them. Powers included. So it's like we both have a lock on us." she explained. "And you actually aren't the only one."
"I'm not!" I said. "Who else?"
She sighed slowly, muttering something too low for even me to hear.
"There are both angels and demons with locks on them." she started out. "Alexander and Claude are demons with locks on them. I assumed that they didn't know about it."
My eyes widened as a billion thoughts raced into my mind. Claude and Alexander are demons? How? What?
"That isn't even the best part." she chuckled. "Luna and Jagger are angels with locks on them too."
Okay, I thought that Alexander and Claude being demons topped my surprise scale. Oops. Looks like Jagger and Luna won.
"No. That is not possible!" I exclaimed. "Maybe for Luna, but not for Jagger!"
"Jagger is a misguided young man. He thinks that he has to use force to get whatever he wants," my mother said with a shake of his head. "He just needs to be shown the right way."
"And how do you suggest that happens? Alexander would not go near him, Claude, would rip him to shreds, and he'd probably try to force himself on me next time we see each other!" I exclaimed.
"Well, somehow, if you really wish he would change, you could explain to him that he doesn't have to use force. Maybe suggest trying friendship first." my mother suggested.
I blew out a sigh and glared at the wall. My mother is just too nice for her own good. Always wanting to give people second chances. He kidnapped me, for crying out loud!
"Mom, let's think about this for a moment. He kidnapped me! I do not want to ever see him again in my life!" I exclaimed.
"Hon, you know how I believe in second chances." she said in a warning tone. "Besides, I know that he's a good kid on the inside. You two were best friends when you were really young."
"Nuh-uh!" I said. "Not possible. Even if we were best friends when we were young, I'm not giving him a second chance now. Nope. Not happening."
My mother sighed heavily.
"I just want what's best for both you and Jagger." she said. "And I think that he was just diluted in the way he was thinking of obtaining you."
"Mom, he treated me like an object!" I exclaimed. "How in the Hell am I supposed to get over that!"
"Tell him that. Tell him that if he doesn't treat you like an object or if he doesn't force himself on you, then friendship could be considered. Whether you'd go farther then that is up to you." she said with a nod. "But I do really think that you should give him a second chance."
I sighed. She really does want me to give him a second chance, doesn't she?
"Please? Just try it, won't you?" she asked, her wide brown eyes staring at me.
"Alright, alright! I'll give him a second chance, but quit staring at me like that!" I said, turning my head away from her.
"Good." she said with a smile. "Now, what would you like for lunch?"
After that serious of a conversation, it would only be my mom that would suggest food.
"I don't really care. I have Rice Krispy treats." I said proudly, linking arms with her.
I still can't believe that I agreed to give Jagger a second chance. Raven is going to kill me! And so is Claude!
Mom, what did you just get me into?
