I left my family.

I left my home.

I left everything I've ever known, just because I thought I couldn't take it anymore.

I'm never going to see my brother, or my parents, or my cousins again. I'm erasing my entire family from my memory, pretending they never existed.

I stretch out on the Potter's lawn, staring up at the darkened sky. I have James to replace Regulus, the Potters to replace my parents and, as for my cousins… well, I don't think I'll miss them much anyhow.

Hang on – is this happiness?

I thought I'd been happy before, but it was never anything like this. I can feel my whole body get lighter, like I'm floating. My chest feels like it'll explode if I don't get up and dance, but at the same time, I want to do nothing but lie here on the grass by my best friend's house forever.

Yes, I think it must be happiness.

So, I left my family, my home and all I've ever known.

Do I have any regrets?

Not a one.
