Disclaimer: I do not own KND. Sorry for any grammar mishaps. Kuki is 16 everyone else is 17. Enjoy! :)
Kuki Sanban sighed as she shut her locker.
Last period, Ace had tried, yet again, to convince her that Wally didn't deserve her and that she could do better. Naturally, he was referring to himself. Why couldn't he understand that she was happy with Wally and that she loved him? She wasn't interested in Ace and she never would be. Luckily, Ace was the only one bothering her. No one else dared to try to take her away from Wally, he wasn't someone who's bad side you wanted to be on.
Kuki turned her head to the left and saw her boyfriend and their friends.
"Hey guys," she said as she forced a smile.
"What's wrong?" Hoagie asked.
"Nothing. Why would you think there's something wrong?" Kuki responded.
"That's not a true Kuki smile," said Nigel.
"A true Kuki smile?" she asked.
"Seriously, what's wrong? And don't lie to Abby."
Kuki sighed. She knew she was gonna have to tell them, but why now? If she told them now, she was going to have to stop Wally from hurting Ace.
"Promise me you won't get mad," she said, looking at Wally.
"I can't promise that, especially if you're saying that. Normally when someone says that, they tell you things that make you mad," he replied.
"He's got a point, Kuki," Hoagie piped.
"Ugh, whatever. Look, Ace was just giving me a hard time last period," she told them.
Wally tensed, his jaw and fists clenching. "What did he say to you?" he growled.
Kuki looked down.
"He was just saying you weren't good for me, again. He said you would only hurt me and that I deserved someone better," she said softly.
She heard Wally growl and saw him start to walk towards the end of the hallway, but grabbed his arm and stopped him. He turned to look at her and she saw the fury in his eyes.
"Don't," she said.
"Why not? He deserves -"
"Maybe," she said, cutting him off "But he's not worth it. It doesn't matter what he thinks. I love you and that's not gonna change."
Wally sighed and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you too, Kooks."
"Aww come on, Kuki. Why settle for that, when you could have this?" Hoagie said jokingly, waggling his eyebrows.
Wally let go of her and turned to face his best friend with a predatory smile. "Run."
Hoagie took off running down the hall with Wally chasing after him, his shouts of "I was just joking!" and the boys' laughter disappearing as they rounded a corner . The rest of the group just stood there, chuckling.
Joking or not, you should never mess with Wally's girl.
Okay. Well, this is my first KND fic in a while. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it, but I guess it's okay. Tell me what you think! :)
