Title: Quixotic

Word Count: 481

Notes: Written after I came across a word that made me think of Tamaki.

"Tamaki Suoh has a very…quixotic nature."

"Qu…quixotic? What does that even mean?" Kaoru asked.

The two, who had 'stumbled' across Haruhi's forgotten notes after she had run out early today, being late to do some common's folk thing that she had agreed to.

"If you ask me, it sounds like an insult." Hikaru grinned and shouted over his shoulder "Hey, milord, Haruhi is insulting you behind your back."

Tamaki turned enough from his position of looking out the window at the gray sky to glare at the twins. "What do you mean?"

"She said that you're quixotic."

"And that means?"

"…That you are obnoxious," Hikaru said.

One of Tamaki's eyebrows twitched.

"Not that that is too much of a surprise. You are intolerable," Kaoru said.

Tamaki tried to ignore them, but then he noticed exactly whose papers they were leaning over, "Hey, what are you guys doing? Those are Haruhi's things!"

The twins bolted out of the way before Tamaki could grab their collars. Tamaki raked Haruhi's notes into a neat pile before giving the twins a well-earned glare.

"Aw, come on, milord, you should be happy that she's writing about you on the side of her notes in her spare time," Hikaru said.

"That's true," Tamaki said, putting his hand to his mouth, "That means that she's thinking about me…"

"Quixotically…" The brothers turned to each other, lowering their voices, "Maybe it doesn't mean obnoxious, maybe it means something else entirely…" Kaoru said.

"Something perverted…" His twin mumbled.

"Hey, hey! What are you two saying?" Tamaki said, hunched over Haruhi's notes like he was their sworn protector.

They both flashed their smiles, "Nothing, milord."

The turning of the door's knob both snapped them out of their evil grinning, "What the hell, there's not suppose to be anymore customers," said Hikaru.

Tamaki gasped, "What if it's Haruhi?"

"If it is, you look like you're reading her notes," Hikaru said.

"Well, if it is, I'm telling her that you both are the ones that hid her wallet earlier, before you both just so innocently found it."

The three boys glowered at the door as Kyoya walked in.

"…Is something wrong?" He asked.

"What are you doing back? You left fifteen minutes ago," Kaoru said.

"I forgot my coat," Kyoya said, grabbing the leather piece of clothing before heading back to the door.

"Kyoya, Haruhi called me quixotic…What does that mean?" Tamaki asked.

"Haven't you ever heard of a dictionary?" Kyoya said just as he shut the door.

"Oh, of course!" Tamaki bounded across the room to grab the dictionary off the shelf.

The twins leaned over his shoulder, skimming the words.

"Ah, here it is!" Tamaki said, flourishing his hand. "Quixotic: Extravagantly chivalrous or romantic but impractical…." Tamaki moved his nose closer to the book, as if he couldn't read the print, "Impractical?"

"…That's it? Everyone already knew that."
