A/N- Hi guys. I'm back :) As of now, I'll be posting oneshots to clear my mind. I've got so much stuff going on lately with school, social life (yes, I do have one, contrary to popular belief) and everything else. Now that I'm caught up all the way to Season Four of Doctor Who (the first season with Donna as a legit companion) I've decided to write a little somethin-somethin. I just finished The Poison Sky (on 9/18/11) and I was thinking, 'Dang, the Doctor has lost so many people. He really is a lonely angel... according to Madame de Pompadour. So, without further ado, here's my newest oneshot. -End A/N

A man with a blue box wanders the universe; a man who can change his face. He saves so many lives.

And he does it on his own.

Some come and join him and witness the wonders of the universe...

he's like fire and ice and rage...

... but the hands of Destiny always take them away.

he's like the night...

And he is lonely...

...and the storm in the heart of the sun...

Oh, so lonely...

he's ancient and forever...

The names of those he loved and lost are always with him...

"How long are you going to stay with me?"

They never leave him.

"Forever."

He travels through the whole existence of time and space, saving so many lives, so many planets...

he burns at the center of time...

And he lives on...

and can see the turn of the universe...

while those he loves die...

"if you get back in touch... if you talk to Rose... just tell her... tell her I... Oh, she knows."

wither away into dust...

"You know what? They keep trying to split us up, but they never ever will." "Never say never ever." "Nah, we'll always be alright, you and me. Don't you think, Doctor?" "Something in the air... Something's coming... A storm's approaching..."

and still, he continues on...

and...

That is the curse of the Time Lords... to live, to change their faces, to never age, to lose all they love...

"But your heart grows cold, the north wind blows, and carries down the distant... Rose!" "Oh, BIG mistake, 'cause that name keeps me fighting!"

The names of the lost quietly leave scars upon his hearts. Astrid Peth... Martha Jones... Sarah Jane Smith... Jenny, sweet Jenny... Donna Noble...

"no more."

Rose Tyler...

That was the name that hurt the most.

"I'm old enough to know that a longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything you love turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you'll end up alone."

Rose Tyler, stranded on an alternate Earth, with the one she wanted, living her life with the Doctor...

he's wonderful.

The other Doctor... and the real Doctor missed her so much.

And he still travels...

and he's still lonely...

...oh, so lonely.

He's the Doctor. My Doctor.

He's a quiet angel, a beacon of safety and hope...

"I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm nine hundred three years old, and I'm the man who's gonna save your lives and all six billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?"

A man with a blue box wanders the universe; a man who can change his face. He saves so many lives...

...and he does it on his own.

"Godspeed, my lonely angel."

A/N- and THAT, my friends, is the messy regurgitation of my brain. Just ask if this makes no sense because my subconscious took over here. The quotes are from "The Family of Blood", "Army of Ghosts", "The Satan Pit", "Fear Her", "The Shakespeare Code", "Voyage of the Damned", and "Girl in the Fireplace". The 'he's the doctor-my doctor" was the result of a Doctor Who marathon I had yesterday... heh... Anyway, I'm gonna go now.
