So, this is a songfic for the song, Just A Dream, by Nelly. I got the idea from listening to Christina Grimmie and Sam Tsui's cover of the song. In my opinion, it's better than the original.
Rated T for language.
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus & the song "Just A Dream."
I was thinking 'bout you, thinkin bout me
Thinkin bout us, what we gon' be
Open my eyes yeah, it was only Just A Dream
So I travelled back, down that road
Wish you come back, no one knows
I realize yeah, it was only Just A Dream
-Just A Dream, Nelly
Annabeth pursed her lips. "Piper, your memories are a lot sharper than most. I'll admit that, and I don't know why that is. But if you know him so well—"
"Then where is he from?"
Piper felt like she'd been hit between the eyes. "He must have told me, but—"
"Did you ever notice his tattoo before today? Did he ever tell you anything about his parents, or his friends, or his last school?"
"I—I don't know, but—"
"Piper, what's his last name?"
Her mind went blank. She didn't know Jason's last name. How could that be?
-Page 50, The Lost Hero
She never dated Jason Grace.
All of their memories were fake.
The boy she loved was fake.
She should have known it was too good to be true.
He was too perfect.
He was so kind to her.
He actually listened to her.
He didn't judge her for her mistakes.
He accepted her for who she was.
But she shouldn't have been so blinded.
Everyone in her life always left her.
Piper was sitting in History class, listening to the teacher, Mr. Fielder, who was rambling about the Spartans. "Sparta was unique inancient Greecefor its social system and constitution, which completely focused on military— Jason, Leo, is there something you want to share with the class?"
The whole class turned to where Jason and Leo were sitting, which happened to be behind right behind Piper. Jason glared at Leo, obviously mad about getting him in trouble.
"No." Leo answered, obviously trying hard not to laugh.
"No what, Valdez?" asked Mr. Fielder, looking more like a dictator then a history teacher. He was one of the strictest teacher's in the school, besides Coach Hedge, who carried a baseball bat with him at all times.
"No, sir." Leo replied with a sarcastic tone.
Mr. Fielder glared at Leo some more, but was interrupted by the bell, signaling the period was over.
The class started to stand gather up their books and leave the room, when Mr. Fielder barked, "Sit down, the bell does not dismiss you, I do!"
The class obeyed and sat down so fast, it probably set the world record.
"Now that I your attention, starting tomorrow, since we are discussing the Spartans, we will be watching the King of Sparta movie, which I am sure you are all familiar with. Goodbye." Mr. Fielder said.
The class started getting really excited. King of Sparta had been the "it" movie of the year, it was labeled movie of the year and a "must see".
Piper's hart sank into her stomach. They couldn't watch that movie. Piper loathed that movie. That movie would ruin the façade she had created ever since she came here.
Because, her dad happened to star in that movie and now millions of girls are fawning over her father abs.
And now when thy watch the movie everyone will recognize who she is, and she'll never be able to live her "I'm-a-nobody" life.
She quickly grabbed her stuff and bolted out the door, tears starting to run down her face, planning to go to her dorm room and stay there forever.
She ran inside her dorm room and flopped face down onto her bed. Tears stained her pillow, but at the moment she didn't care. She just wanted to disappear.
She heard knocking at her door. Piper ignored it.
"Piper? Open Up, its Jason."
She couldn't resist his pleads. He had that effect on her. "Fine," she answered.
She didn't hear him open the door, but a few seconds later she felt the bed shift under her.
She flipped over so she could talk to him. As usual he took her breath away with his mane of blonde hair and his blue eyes. Even in a t-shirt and jeans he looked hot.
(Thank god he can't hear her thoughts.)
"You're not supposed to be here ya know," Piper said, glaring daggers at the white ceiling above her. There was a strict rule about boys and girls being alone in dorm rooms. If you got caught, you get detention with Coach Hedge.
Basically it's like going to hell.
"It's not like we haven't done it before," he countered. What he said was true. Usually thy sneak into each other's dorms and do homework and… other stuff together.
She didn't answer.
"It's gonna be okay ya know." He said after what seemed like forever.
Piper sat up adjacent to Jason, her feet hanging off the bed, and looked him straight in the eye. 'How do you know?"
A few minutes passed until he finally said, "I don't know. But if something goes wrong you always have me and Leo here for you."
"It's Leo and I, not me and Leo," Piper said matter-of-factually with a small smile forming on her face.
Jason chuckled and cracked a smile, causing the cute little scar above his lip to form a crescent moon shape. "Someone's been paying attention in English." He poked Piper in her side causing her to giggle.
"Someone needs to start paying attention in English!" Piper said, poking him back in his rib cage, hard. He cringed and she giggled again.
"Oh it's so on Mclean."
They ended up chasing each other around Piper's dorm room, having an intense poke war.
Piper ended up surrendering after Jason pinned her on the bed and tortured her the worst way possible: he tickled her to death.
He rolled off her and said something she was not expecting at all.
"I love you." He said simply.
All of their memories were fake.
They never happened.
They were just a dream.
The only boy she ever truly loved,
Was just a figment of her imagination.
He wasn't real.
Probably the second fluffiest thing I ever wrote.
