A/N: Sorry that it took so long for me to update :(. I've been busy.
A bunch of men walked into the room. They were wearing blue jeans and black muscle tee shirts. The man in front took out a pink(don't ask.) handgun and pointed it at me. I looked over at Loïc and James. James was backing up from them, and Loïc was playing with his watch. If there wasn't a gun pointed at me, I would've rolled my eyes at him. What the hell was he doing?! We were about to die, and he was acting like nothing was going on!
"I command you to surrender!," grunted the biggest gunman. "If you do not surrender, we will shot you."
I held my finger up. "Wait a minute. Who's side are you on? Paralynn's? Brendon's? The enemies? Our's?," I asked while scratching my head.
James shook his head as to say, you are so stupid. It's so obvious. They are on _'s side.
"We are Brendon's men."
As soon as he said that, a million shivers went down my side. Brendon. I didn't want to think about him-that jackass. I used to trust him, but he just wanted one thing. He wanted to make Mace hurt like hell by stealing me. He wanted to rule the world. Okay, fine. Brendon wanted more than one thing. He wanted 2 things that I wasn't going to give him. I wasn't going to marry him and if I did-I would escape.
"Of course," I heard James whisper.
"Do you surrender?," asked one of the gunmen.
All of a sudden, an idea popped into my head and I smiled.
"No. We do not surrender."
The gunmen raised their guns at me-but then a kid ran into a room.
"Papa! Papa!," said the little boy while tugging at his dad's pants. "Didn't Brendon order to take her alive?"
The one man put his gun down and gave the other men a symbol. They put their guns on the ground. The one man smiled at his son.
"You are right. Men, grab her!"
I cursed in my head as I backed up towards Loïc and James. Loïc looked up from his watch and shrugged. My mouth fell open shock. Loïc was being an ignorant prick! And James? Some men had surrounded him. They were beating him up. I yelled his name as the men cornered me. He didn't answer me.
When my back was against the wall, the head gunman smiled and I looked behind him. Somehow they had grabbed James-but Loïc was fighting back. I tore my gaze away from them and looked at the man in front of me. He pointed the gun at me and smiled. I wanted to throw up.
"Now, now don't be difficult. Just come with us, and we won't-"
He stopped moving and speaking. What was going on? I glanced over Loïc. He was walking over towards me and James was pushing his way past the gunmen.
"…what…," I mumbled under my breath as Loïc carefully grabbed my wrist.
"I froze them-the time has stopped around them. It won't last long though.," he said while looking at his watch. "About 2o minutes. That should be enough time to escape-unless there are more guards. I sense people coming towards our room. We need to hurry."
I nodded as I comprehended what he had said. "Alright."
James, Loïc, and I started to walk towards the entrance.
"So…where are you from?," I asked Loïc "I'm from Florida-but you probably knew that."
He looked out the circular windows as we passed them. "I am from Sweden." A look of sadness filled his eyes, but it went away quickly.
"Oh. Do you miss it?"
Loïc's amber eyes met my brown ones. I could see frustration and pain in his eyes. Then it was replaced with anger and something else. He tore his gaze away from me and shrugged.
I let it go. I could tell that he didn't want to talk about it. Silence filled the air for a few minutes, then I spoke.
"Well, I just wanted to say thank you. You know, for saving me."
In the corner of my eye, I saw James nudge him. Loïc glared at him. I looked away as silence took over the air again. Ok, fine, he wasn't going to respond. Fine with me. Like I cared. …ok, I did care. A bit.
After 5 minutes of silence, Loïc finally spoke.
"There are people coming towards us." He examined the area around us. "We will have to fight them. Until we come face to face with them, remain silent. Maybe they will go the other way."
I sighed. I really didn't want to fight anyone. I was sick and tired of fighting. I just wanted life to go back to normal(and I know that I've said that a lot.). I was worn out between Mace, the 'fire girl' thing, Paralynn, Brendon, and the enemy. Then there was the 'fire king'. But my gut was telling me that there was no fire king. It was nothing but a cheap lie. I stopped and leaned against a wall. Then I sat down. James stopped walking and grabbed Loïc's arm. He walked towards me and extended his arm. I pushed his arm away.
"You know what?," I asked quietly.
"I'm tired of fighting. Let them get me."
James raised his eyebrows.
"You're joking, right?"
I shook my head. "No James, I am not joking."
His face fell. "Come on Coco. If you don't get up soon then I'll drag out of here."
I sighed. "Fine." I got up and we continued walking down the hallway.
5 minutes later
We stopped in front of a water fountain as Loïc put a finger over his lips.
"Shh," he whispered. "There are people coming towards us. Look down and ignore them."
I looked at the ground and followed them-until I heard bang. I looked up and I grabbed James's and Loïc's shoulders.
They looked back at me in confusion. James was the first one to speak.
"Follow me. My gut feeling is telling me to-"
When I turned around, I froze. It was Jade, Xanthe, a girl and boy that I didn't know, and Clovis. Before I could comprehend what had happened, Jade was hugging me.
"Weeee founddd you!," she sung. "Finallyyyy!"
I gasped for a breath because she was holding me so tightly. "Yeah," I muttered. "And you are choking me."
Jade immediately let go of me-then her jaw dropped.
I looked back at him. There was a look of disbelief and happiness on his face. He raised his eyebrows as he walked towards her.
"Is that you Jade?"
She ran into his arms and he kissed her on the lips. A smile spread across her face. I coughed. Ew. Gross. Kisses.
Jade winked at me-then she closed her eyes. I sighed as someone nudged me. I glanced over at the spot next to me. There was a guy that I didn't know jumping down like an idiot. I gave him a weird look.
"Uh…hi?" I said while examining him. He had red brown hair(with white stuff in it), and light blue eyes.
He smiled at me. "Hi! You are Coco, right? The one that Clovis was talking about? If you are, it's soooooo nice to meet you! Oh my god, I love your hair!" The man grabbed a strand of my hair and I shuddered. This dude was a total creep. "It's so pretty…and where was I? Oh right! Nice to meet you! I am Lux! The world-famous Sugar King!"
I nodded. "Ok…"
The smile fell off his face. "Oh my god, am I bugging you?," he asked while letting go of my hair. "I didn't mean to! I'm. So. Sorrryyyyyy! What can I do-"
Before he knew it, the girl with indigo hair was holding him up in the air. He tried to get out of her grip, but she was too strong. After a few seconds, Lux gave up-and gave me a sad smile. I closed my eyes as the girl shook him. His teeth rattled like a maraca and my eyes snapped open.. The girl shook her head and narrowed her black eyebrows while shaking Lux. I took a step backward and watched Lux and the girl some more.
"Lux! Leave the poor girl alone!," she exclaimed while shaking him wildly. "People are. not. toys! God! What don't you understand about that?! "
When he didn't answer, she turned to look at me As she examined me, the girl let go of Lux. He fell to the ground with a loud thump. In the corner of my eye, I saw Jade pull away from James. She wiped her lips on her sleeve and started to walk towards us. The girl with indigo hair locked eyes with me, tearing my vision away from Jade. I looked into her eyes and saw anger/annoyance. Then it disappeared.
"So you are Coco, right?," the stranger asked while forcing a corner of her mouth up.
I shook my head yes. The slightly raised corner fell back down as she redid her ponytail.
"Well, that's nice. My name is Indigo."
She stuck her left hand I reached for her hand, another one pulled it away. I looked over my shoulder. Clovis was holding my right wrist. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Why are you holding my wrist?"
A slight blush crawled on to his face as he let go of my wrist. His emerald-green eyes met my chocolaty brown orbs-and I couldn't look away. There was something about his eyes that I loved. What it was, I didn't know. Maybe it was the color of his eyes-a vibrant green with some gold specks. Since I couldn't look away, I hoped that he would break the connection. He didn't. I wanted to frown, but I didn't.
While I was locked in that position, I took in his features. His heart-shaped and pale face was streaked with dirt and his pink lips were slightly chapped. Even though his face was dirty, Clovis's dark chocolate-colored hair was slightly combed to the side. I had to admit, he was still attractive. As attractive as Mace? No, he beat Mace in terms of looks. Personality? I hadn't gotten that far even though I had no interest in dating. It was a waste of my time. I had to help people. Feelings could wait.
I focused back on his fascinating eyes. They were just so…pretty. For once, I felt peaceful. I could stare at his eyes for 24 hours(or more) and not get tired.
I jumped and snapped out of the trance. Clovis shook his head and looked away from me. I looked for the person that had called my name. It was Jade. Her average green eyes were full of concern and happiness. Then her cheeks were all red. Probably from kissing James.
"Yeah?," I asked her. "What is it?"
She squinted her eyes and looked at me as if I was a lab rat.
"What was that?, Jade said while placing her hands on her hips.
Her question took me by surprise. I scrunched up my forehead and eyebrows.
"What do you mean?"
A knowing smile crossed her Hawaiian face as she flipped her hair over her shoulder.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about."
Before I could tell her that I had no idea, Loïc stepped between us. If he wasn't powerful, I would've yelled at him for interrupting us. But I didn't. He could kill in less than a second. Loïc wasn't a person that you wanted to piss off. He was a dangerous man with a cruel power and beauty. Loïc glanced at me, then he turned his gaze to Jade.
Even though he was blocking her face, I could tell that he intimidated her. There was something about him that made you scared. I shuddered as some cold air flowed into the hallway. Loïc looked towards the end of the hallway and his back became straight. I tore my gaze away from him and placed it on Clovis. He was looking out the window. I walked towards him-then I heard a lot of footsteps.
I glanced at Lois. The corners of his lips were turned down in a scowl and he was tapping his watch. I looked away from him and looked at James. He was exchanging nervous looks with Jade. I tore my gaze away from them-then a hand grabbed mine and pulled me out the window.
p.s. Where are you guys?Is anyone reading this?
