Watching Clouds Go By

A blonde boy with gravity-defying hair and a girl with long, dark brown hair sat on top of a grassy hill. Both of them were looking up at the deep blue sky above them. However, it wasn't the lively color of the sky that interested them; it was the clouds. Each cloud had a different shape. The one that just passed looked like a star, the one next to it looked like a chocobo wearing pajamas (don't judge Tifa's awesome imagination) and the one that currently caught Cloud's eye was shaped as a Moogle.

"Hey, Cloudie! That one looks like you!" Tifa giggled, pointing at a cloud that was shaped as a frog.

"Haha. Very funny, Teef." Cloud rolled his eyes.

"Hey, don't be such a baby. I'm just kidding." she giggled once more.

"Hn." After many other clouds passed by, Tifa noticed one shaped as a heart cut in half. For some reason, Tifa felt her stomach drop after seeing it.

"Cloud." she said quietly.

"Do you think.." she frowned. "We'll ever be apart?"

"What's with the sudden question?"

"Just answer me." Cloud thought for a moment.

"No," he answered. "We'll never be apart."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah. We'll be best friends forever. I'll always be there for you. I promise."

Tifa missed those days. When everything was so simple.

"Cloud, please let me come!" she pleaded. The blonde managed to stand up all on his own, despite the bruises and cuts he had.

"No. It's too dangerous. I won't let you." the blonde said, sighing. "I-I just don't want you to get hurt, Teef." a small smile found its way to her face when she heard that nickname. "I don't want to lose you."

"I'll be back. I promise."

Cloud Strife then turned his back on her, giving her a full view of his blood-stained clothing.

There he goes again. Pushing her away.

But, for once, she didn't chase after him. She watched him go farther and farther, then proceeded in looking up at the clouds floating in the blue sky above her. A laugh escaped her lips. When she noticed that her longtime friend was still in sight, she cupped her mouth with her hand and screamed.

"Cloudie!" said Cloud turned around. The brunette pointed up at a cloud that looked like a frog. "It looks like you!"

The blonde looked up, and after so long..

He smiled.

"Very funny, Teef." he mouthed to her. With the smile still plastered on his face, he kept walking and soon disappeared.

A single tear ran down the dark-haired girl's face.

"Cloud.." she whispered. "I'll be waiting for you."

I promise.

I'm actually happy with how this turned out. x3 Please review! They are really appreciated! ^^
