A/N It's been a long time, and personally I feel as if this chapter is very terrible. I'm reading off the rough draft I wrote in my notebook about three years ago, back when my writing was still developing, so I am having trouble collaborating my skills from three years ago with my current skills.
It took a month before Zetsu brought Tobi back. Tobi looked absolutely miserable and had fresh bandages around his wrists while Zetsu looked worn out.
"He's yours now, Konan-sama!" Zetsu exclaimed, shoving Tobi into her arms.
Konan looked at Zetsu before hugging Tobi close to her. "What's the matter, sweetness?" She cooed, hugging Tobi tightly.
"Tobi is still sad…" Tobi said with a sigh.
"Konan-sama, you have no idea how stressed he is making us!" Zetsu exclaimed. "We can't deal with this, anymore!"
"Tobi, go find Pein." Konan said softly, shooing Tobi away. "Zetsu, a word, please?"
Tobi obeyed, leaving the room quietly while Zetsu followed Konan to the kitchen.
"Konan-sama?" Zetsu asked once they were seated safely at the table.
"Zetsu-kun, you can't give up on Tobi! It's bad for both of you and will make it even harder for Tobi to recover!"
"We know! But you understand how hard it can be, sometimes! Tobi's getting worse, Konan-sama!"
"Zetsu, I understand. Give him to me for a while."
At these words, Zetsu slid down the wall he had been leaning on, placing his face in his hands. Judging by the noises that he was making, Zetsu was crying – hard. Konan knelt down beside him. She was too afraid and disgusted to touch him, but she wanted to comfort him.
"Zetsu-san, I – what was that?!" A loud scream had interrupted Konan.
"That was Tobi!" Zetsu exclaimed. He sunk through the floor instantly in order to get to Tobi while Konan used her paper butterflies to approach the situation.
The two found Tobi cowering in a corner of the hallway with a strange albino man carrying a huge scythe and donning a strange necklace towering over the boy. Every door in the hallway opened, revealing every member to be gawping at the scene.
"Leave him alone!" Kisame shouted. He stomped over to the strange man and pulled Tobi away.
Both Zetsu and Konan hurried to the Hoshigaki. They took Tobi into their arms and checked him over for injuries.
"Knock it off, Hidan." Kakuzu growled from his own bedroom. "I told you to stay away from Tobi, did I not?"
"Jashin damnit!" The albino shouted. Zetsu covered Tobi's ears. "The fuck is wrong with all of you?! Quick fucking staring!"
Hidan gasped as he was pinned to the wall by his throat. Zetsu had summoned his sharpest vines in order to do it.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Zetsu snarled.
"That asshole miser brought me here, fuckface!" Hidan shouted back.
Apparently, Hidan was their newest member, and while he was waiting for Pein to return to the base, he had found joy in tormenting Tobi.
Just as Hidan and Zetsu's argument was getting physical, Pein stepped in.
"I heard you're always antagonising people," Pein said to Hidan, "but if you could rile Zetsu up like this, you're better than the rumours say."
"'Bout fucking time, metal-face!" Hidan shouted. "Now tell this escaped lab experiment to fucking let me down!"
"Don't call Zetsu-san that!" Tobi cried out as his voice shook from fear and his eyes filled with tears.
"Shh, Tobi," Konan whispered. "Stay out of this; Zetsu-kun is a grown-up; he can take care of himself."
"Take Tobi away, Konan," Pein said in a calm manner. "Hidan, follow me."
Zetsu released Hidan and instead glared at the albino as he made his way over to Tobi.
"Hidan, I'll ask you to leave Tobi alone until he decides he's ready to meet you himself," was the last thing Zetsu heard Pein say before the ginger and Hidan rounded the corner.
Tobi had eventually been taken to Konan's room. He was hiccupping and sitting in Konan's lap while the woman hummed and rubbed his back.
"Is Tobi alright?" Zetsu whispered as to not startle the boy more than he already was.
"He's fine. That loudmouth was hurling abuse at him because he was asking to leave." Konan frowned at her own words.
"I can't believe he was swearing like that; especially in front of Tobi."
Tobi sniffed. "Tobi asked him to stop and he hurt Tobi…"
"How did he hurt you?" Konan questioned in a gentle manner.
"He hit Tobi in the tummy!"
Zetsu growled. "I hope Kakuzu kills him."
"He can't…" Konan growled back. It was clear that she already didn't like the silver-haired male. "He's immortal. That's why Pein wanted him."
"If he comes near Tobi again, I'll find a way to kill him."
"Just drop it, Zetsu-kun. It isn't helping Tobi."
Zetsu sighed. He could see that Tobi was trembling again, nuzzling into Konan's neck.
"I have an idea, Konan-sama." Zetsu grinned.
"What is it?"
"You should kiss Tobi."
Konan blushed at the suggestion, but she couldn't deny that it was a bad idea. She turned Tobi's head to face her. "Honey, let's kiss."
Tobi blushed. "T-tobi dreams about Konan-chan kissing him sometimes…"
Konan pulled Tobi's mask from his face before she pressed her lips to the boy's. Tobi returned the gesture, but he jumped as a tongue licked at his lips.
"K… Konan-sama…?" Tobi whispered.
"It's alright." Konan whispered back. "Just open your mouth."
Tobi obeyed warily. He opened his mouth, but he jumped again and flinched as the girl's tongue invaded his mouth.
"K-konan-sama…!" Tobi cried out, breaking the kiss.
"Trust me, Tobi." Konan rested her hand on Tobi's cheek.
Tobi blushed. He allowed the older woman to kiss him, and he was surprised by the feelings he had never felt before. It felt… good to be kissed like this.
