A/N - alternate universe.

Number 2. The consolation prize. Rory Williams was/is always second. As Rory opened the door to his room, he found a scene he would never want to see. Ever. Amy was pushed against the cupboard as the Doctor kissed her passionately, like he would never let her go. Then, Amy gave in, and kissed him back. Rory found himself screaming, then he fell to the ground.

It's all an illusion. Forget it. It's all an illusion, Rory Williams, and you bloody know it. Now get down to your sexy Scottish lady and give her a hug. She'll help. She'll never do that. Not any more.

A voice inside his head was talking. It sounded like Amy.

"I never wanted you, I just needed someone. I thought the Doctor left me, but I was stupid, the Doctor would never leave me. He loved me more than you ever did. The girl who waited, it was better that I did, you always get good things when you wait."

Rory finally found his senses and ran out of the room. He leaned against the door and found himself crying.

It's all an illusion. Forget it. It's all an illusion, Rory Williams, and you bloody know it. Now get down to your sexy Scottish lady and give her a hug. She'll help. She'll never do that. Not any more.

At least it wasn't the real world, at least he still had Amy. Or did he?

He knew this wretched place made him question. He questioned anyway. He questioned his relationship. He questioned his life. He questioned his existence. This hotel knew how to get to him, and they bloody well did it.

Rory Williams is smart. He just walked away.
