Ollie slowly walked through one of the Star City's many malls. Six years ago the league had expanded and was taken in as heroes by the public. Six years ago Chloe died in a car crash on her way to Smallville. Four years ago Dinah left him saying; she wasn't Chloe. Four years ago his life shattered as the only person who ever really knew him left, saying she couldn't replace the 'empty void' of his heart. She wasn't Chloe.
"Olivia" a very familiar voice called behind from him.
Spinning around he saw Dinah bending down to hug a little blonde girl. Picking her up, Dinah smiled and gently kissed her temple. The girl, Olivia giggled and wrapped her arms around her mother's neck.
Ollie felt a sharp pain in his heart, she had moved on. Just like everyone else. She hadn't changed much; she still had her brown wig covering her blond curls. Blue eyes, everything was the same except, she had changed so much.
Ollie stopped and sat down on one of the seats that the mall provided and watched interaction between mother and daughter. Dinah laughed as Olivia jumped up and down explaining, something really fast. Dinah felt his gaze and turned to look at him.
Her eyes widened as she took in him just sitting there. Ollie slowly got up and walked away. Stuffing his hands in his pockets he walked off towards the small café, he was meant to meet Lois. Try to push out the image of Dinah and little blonde girl.
"Ollie" came a quiet voice behind him.
He turned to see Dinah standing behind him holding Olivia's hand.
"Dinah" he nodded at her.
"What are you doing?" she asked
"Meeting Lois for lunch" said Ollie
Dinah nodded slightly. He turned around only to be stopped by Dinah's voice again.
"What?" he exclaimed "what do you want Lance?"
Dinah looked shocked as Olivia whimpered from behind her mother's leg.
"I wanted to talk to you" shot back Dinah, glaring at him
"Why would you want to talk to me?" snapped Ollie "you walked out of my life remember?"
Dinah's eyes softened as she looked at him "I'm sorry" she said looking down
"Its too late" said Ollie turning around to see a flash of blonde hair running through the people.
"Olivia" yelled Dinah running after to her only to stop when she lost sight of her.
Ollie looked around and spotted a blonde head running towards the books store in the far part of the mall.
"Ollie, can you help me? She's only three" said Dinah looking at him
"Why should I?" snapped Ollie
"She's your daughter, I thought you'd care" snapped Dinah glaring at him a walking off.
Ollie was speechless as he watched her walk off. Walking away a million thoughts ran through her mind. Olivia was his daughter, that little blonde girl was his daughter. Changing directions he headed towards the bookstore he saw Olivia disappear into.
Walking in he looked around.
"Excuse me but have you seen a little blonde girl?" Ollie asked the one of the shop assistance.
"Yeah, she's in the kids section," said the assistant "she's cute, she yours?"
"Yeah" said Ollie, good that felt weird.
He nodded a thanks and headed off towards the kid's section, reaching it he spotted Olivia sitting on one of the beanbags an opened book on her lap.
"Hey" he said sitting down next to her
She looked up at him and blinked "You and mummy aren't going to fight anymore?"
Ollie smiled "No" he gently brushed her blonde hair behind her ear "I was just upset"
"About what?" asked Olivia
"I was mad at her for something" said Ollie "but you shouldn't ran away like that, your mothers probably worried about you"
Olivia nodded slowly and gently shut the book she was reading.
"Come on" said Ollie standing up "lets go find your mother"
Olivia nodded and stood up, gently placing the book on the shelves she took his hand and gently squeezed it. Exiting the shop, he looked around and saw Dinah running towards them.
"Olivia" she said taking the girl from Ollie and hugging her "how many times have I told you not to run off"
"You were fighting again" said Olivia bugging her face in Dinah's neck.
"I'm sorry if that scared you" said Dinah softening, kissing her cheek "I promise we won't fight again" she looked up at Ollie and smiled.
He smiled back and ran his hands through Olivia's blonde hair "I promise too"
Olivia smiled and gently took his hand in her small ones. Ollie gently squeezed them, electing a giggle from her.
"Did you really mean what you said earlier?" asked Ollie
"That she's your daughter?" Dinah asked, "yes, at first I was surprised, then anger took and I never told you"
"I'm sorry I left," said Dinah "I didn't know what to do, you treated me like Chloe and I didn't want to be second best, I couldn't replace her, I knew that, you knew that" she looked into his brown eyes and he could see the tears filling her eyes "then I found out I was pregnant and I couldn't let my child grow up with arguments and yelling, with two parents who didn't love each other" she hugged her daughter tighter.
"I didn't want you to be Chloe" said Ollie "I wanted you to be Dinah, but I missed Chloe and pain of it was all to fresh" he gently ran his hand over her cheek "I didn't know what to do" he looked at Olivia "but one thing was certain I wanted you to be Dinah, not Chloe, not Lois, not anyone, I wanted you to be you"
He wrapped his arms around her waist, careful not to squish Olivia and rested his forehead against hers.
"I love you" said Ollie "I love you for who you are" he lent down and gently kissed her "and I don't want you to change"
Dinah smiled up at him "I love you too" she said "that's why I was so mad about everything" she looked over at her daughter who had rested her head on her shoulder "let's continue this conversation at my house, I think it's time for someone's bed time"
"No" said Olivia "I don't to go to bed"
Dinah smiled "Well then you can stay up"
Olivia smiled and rested her head back on her mother's shoulder. As they began walking towards the car, she closed her eyes and soon was fast asleep. Ollie smiled and texted to Lois that he would be a little late to lunch.
When they reached Dinah's car, Ollie smiled once again "I see you kept the Audi"
Dinah smiled "Yeah, nearly had a heat attack, when I couldn't get the baby seat in the back"
Ollie laughed and gently took Olivia from her as she opened the car door. Putting her in the car seat, Ollie stepped back and watched as Dinah smoothed Olivia's her hair out of her eyes. Turning to Ollie, she smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I missed you Pretty Bird," said Ollie
"Come on," said Dinah tugging his hand, getting in the car, Ollie got in next to her and she set off out of the car park.
Arriving at an apartment complex, they got out and Dinah picked up Olivia and took Ollie up to the penthouse. Opening the door, Ollie walked inside and smiled, the floor was scattered with toys, DVD's and what looked to be half on Dinah's handbag. Bending down Dinah picked up a bunny dressed in a judo outfit and walked over to the door on the far side. Opening it, she walked in and lay Olivia down on the bed. Tucking her in Dinah smiled at him and turned off the light, the room was suddenly filled with little dim lights.
Ollie looked up and saw the were little lights in the ceiling, which was covered in deep blue felt.
"We used to live out in the country" explained Dinah "she loved the stars, so Bruce got it done for me" she smiled and walked out of the room.
Ollie nodded and slowly walked over to his daughter; smoothing her blonde hair back he gently kissed her forehead.
Olivia shifted and opened her slightly "Daddy?" she mumbled before falling back asleep. Ollie smiled "Sweet dreams little bird"
"I see you've already given her a nickname," said Dinah walking back into the room, she had removed the wig, letting her blonde hair fall down her back.
"Well you're my Pretty Bird, so she's my Little Bird" said Ollie
"I'm your Pretty Bird, huh?" said Dinah
"Always" said Ollie gently kissing her
Braking off, Dinah looked up at him "I kinda guess we need to organize things a bit, I'm sure Olivia would love to spend time with you…." She was stopped by his finger resting on her lips.
"I wouldn't mind spending more time with you" said Ollie "and I'm sure Mia, Roy and Connor wouldn't mind a younger sister" he looked down at her "and you can help me get out of Lois scheme to get me on a date"
Dinah smiled "maybe" she looked down at her daughter, who was fast asleep.
"How about you bring Birdie, over to my house where Mia, Roy and Connor can look after her, then you and I can go out for a nice dinner" suggested Ollie
Dinah nodded and smiled.
Ollie walked through the park watching, as Olivia would run ahead, then would stop and wait for him.
"Daddy? When mummy getting back?" asked the 4 year old
"Tonight" answered Ollie picking her up
"I miss her," said Olivia wrapping her arms around his neck
"I miss her too, Birdie," said Ollie
They walked towards the car and go it. Olivia immediately began fiddling with the radio turning onto Dinah's radio show. Because Dinah had been away for the past 3 weeks, Olivia had taken to listening to her mother speak over the air. Arriving back at Queen Manor, Olivia bounded inside as Ollie followed her. Picking Olivia up, he let her put the keys in the lock and then helped her turn the key. Looking around he smiled when he notice a familiar looking Audi in the driveway.
"I think mums already home"
Pushing the door open her put her down and quietly shut the door. Olivia ran towards the kitchen and disappeared. He heard a squeal and smiled as she came running back to him, dragging Dinah behind her.
"Mummies back, mummies back" she yelled as they stopped and Dinah picked her up, hugging her tightly.
"I missed you Baby bird" said Dinah
"I missed you too, Mummy" said Olivia kissing her cheek.
"What about me?" said Ollie
"I missed you too, Green Bean" said Dinah kissing him.
"GROSS" yelled Olivia running back into the kitchen
