This is the english version of a oneshot I wrote after watching episode 19...

"You both aren't to blame..."

"Ryner!"

Ryner watched as the sun set, without really seeing it, so engrossed in his own thoughts he wasn't hearing the children playing behind him anymore. No, Ferris and Sion weren't to blame. They hadn't done anything wrong, they had only done what they had to do. For the people, for Roland... He understood all that, but it still hurt, even if he refused to admit it, to show it. What would it have changed, anyway? Now that everyone knew he had the Alpha Stigma, the people would surely pressure Sion into ordering his execution if he ever went back. Inevitably, so that he wouldn't lose the place that belonged to him and that he had worked so hard to achieve. Ryner was just a monster... a being that was considered even more worthless than a measly rock, not even allowed to live... He jumped in surprise when someone suddenly sat beside him, braking his train of thought. He turned his head and looked at Tiir, who was smiling at him, but they didn't exchange a word and both looked at the setting sun. These bearers of the Eyes of God, as Tiir referred to their small group... they were no different. Why did one have to exterminate the other? Why was a supremacy supposedly the only solution to peace for everyone? At least Sion... no... Sion was the same. Sion was the same as all of them. He was trying, working on making himself believe the contrary, but it wasn't working...

"Ryner, get away from this-"

"This what? This monster?"

Sion considered those like him the same way everybody else did... They were different, thus monsters. Why had he tried to get closer to him? Why had Sion done everything in his power to be by his side? It was a question without an answer, but, in the end, it didn't matter... Sion had already ordered his execution. Trying to lighten his conscience by adding that it had to be done only is he lost control outside the country, but the fact was that he really had ordered his death. And Ferris... Ferris, who probably didn't know anything about it, but stayed under the king's orders... Under her brother's orders...

"What manner of unfulfillable dream has such a horrible monster seen?"

He was alone, now. Surrounded, yes. Among those like him, yes. But Ryner was nonetheless alone. He briefly thought of Arua, but shook the thought away immediately. It was best not to think of the kid. It was best... to try and forget, move forward... try to do it... Lazing about napping all day probably wasn't an option anymore, now that he was with these nomads. Staying in one place for too long could probably prove to be dangerous... for them who were being chased almost like game... Ryner felt pressure on his hand and turned his head to see what had caused it. A hand lay on his, and going up the arm attached to it, he saw that it belonged to Tiir. The other had kept silent, his eyes lost towards the setting sun. A corner of his lips twitched slightly, briefly upwards and he turned back to the sun, too. He had to put what had happened in Roland behind him, as he had had to do with everything else. But for now... With a yawn, he let himself fall to his back and turned the hand under Tiir's upwards. He held this hand that was so unfamiliar in his own and closed his eyes, a small, bitter smile on his lips as he ignored the surprised and puzzled look of the other one. For now, he would take an afternoon nap...
