LG: Ok, So I finally got Word onto my Mac, and I'm so happy...NEW STORY NOW! Based off the copy-and-paste thing.
Arthur walked up to Alfred one Friday after school. "Alfred?"
The American looked up at him. "Yeah, Artie?"
"Can I ask you a few questions?"
Now or never. "Do I ever cross your mind?"
Alfred just looked at him. "No."
"Am I beautiful?"
Arthur hid back the tears. "Do you like me?"
Alfred's gaze was still solid. "No."
"Do you thing I'm smart?"
"Would you cry if I left?"
"Who do you want to be your partner?"
"Would you do anything for me?"
Arthur's last question. "Al, which is more important, me or your life?"
Alfred's expression had never changed. "My life."
Arthur's eyes widened in shock as the dam broke and his tears started filling his face. They had been best friends all through their lives, up even now. There were rumors that the jock American had a crush on the Brit, but Arthur had apparently been a fool to believe them. Just as he turned to run, Alfred caught his arm.
"You don't cross my mind..." he started, "you rule it."
"You're not beautiful, you're gorgeous and amazing."
"I don't like you, I love you. You're not smart, you're a genius."
"I wouldn't cry if you left me, I would die. I don't want anyone as my partner, I NEED someone to be my partner. I need you as my partner."
"I wouldn't do anything for you, I would do everything for you."
"And my life is more important because you are my life."
"Will you go out with me?"
Arthur looked up to his hopeful and longing face. "Of course I will, you git."
Now, fifteen years later, Arthur still remembers how he had gained the best husband in the world. Just through some honest questions.
