Back and Close-to-Bad.
"TONY!" Abby's voice filled the air with electricity. She shot onto Tony' body. The force, however, winded the poor man, and he staggered backwards, almost unable to lift the scientist's weight. "God, Abs," Tony joked, "You've been piling on the pounds." Abby gave him a look. "Joking."
The Goth finally let him drop her, and she landed on two feet, as graceful as a fairy. He walked over to the bullpen. He knocked knuckles with McGee and Palmer, before shaking hands with Gibbs and Ducky. Finally, the last and hardest obstacle. The one and only Ziva David.
"Hi," was the only words that seemed to work in this awkward situation. "What are you doing here?" "Don't I get a welcome back hug?" Her angry glare gave the answer he'd been most scared she'd give. The one thing he'd wanted was for her to run into his arms, all pain forgotten. That was easy to say for Abby, but not the ninja-like Israeli. "I repeat. What are you doing here, Anthony Dave DiNozzo?"
Tony gulped. "Boy," he thought," She's got to be mad if she used my full name." Ziva looked at him expectantly, hands on hips, giving that "bored teenager ready to be told off," look. His best defense was to run and hide. Well you can run, but not hide. Anyway, she could easily outrun him.
"I'm back," he told her after a bout of silence, "Everything else forgotten. Forever, this time, Zeeves." She winced at her old nickname. He hated how upset she looked. Why was she being so aloof? Not that he would ever ask her. "Whatever," she slammed several folders into his stomach, "Go away. Leave."
And with that, she stalked off. To the lab? Autopsy? Maybe even her car? Tony attempted to run after her, but Gibbs grabbed his arm, twisting the Senior Field Agent around to face him. "Leave her," he growled, "You've hurt her in some way, you idiot. Ziva never acts like that." Tony then received his Gibbs-slap. The first Gibbs-slap back. That's not how he wanted to receive it. Great start, mate.
One by one, the non-agents of Team Gibbs left the bullpen. Abby left first. She knew Tony hadn't hurt Ziva. He cared for her too much to do that. She glanced at him, worried. Something bad was going down, and she was going to find out why.
Next Ducky. Much like Abby, he knew that Tony cared for Ziva more than anyone, and he would only hurt her to stop her being murdered or something.
Palmer followed his mentor. He was glad Tony was back, but like the others, was worried about Ziva. She was the tough as nails, ex-Mossad, ninja. She never came out from behind that set mask.
What was really wrong with Ziva?
