Kimberly and Jason have never met and have very different lives. But some how they both feel like they have something to do with each other.
I broke away from the crowd of laughing students and headed towards my car with my friends Zack and Trini. We were always hanging out together. I was friends with Zack and his girlfriend, Trini for a while. It was Friday so we were planning on going to some party tonight. I told Zack and Trini that I would but I don't really feel like going to any parties. After my break up with Emily I've just been depressed here lately.
I started my car and drove a little bit but slammed on the breaks after almost running over a girl about our age. She had on a pink long sleeve sweater and black skinny jeans. She was clutching her book close to her but dropped them when I almost hit her. I've never met her before but I feel like there is something between us.
"Hey why don't you watch where you're going?" Zack asked.
"Zack calm down," I said stepping out of the car and walking up to the depressed and tired girl.
"I'm so sorry. Are you ok?" I asked.
"Yes. Yes I'm fine, because almost hitting me with your car and then him yelling get out of the way really made my day!" She yelled back stomping away.
"Jason come on!" Zack yelled.
"Shut up Zack!" I yelled back. I noticed a bruise on her arm from her raised sleeve. She quickly covered it and started walking away.
"Jase. We are leaving you!" Trini yelled as her and Zack climbed to the front of the car.
"I don't care!" I yelled back.
"Whatever. We will be at my house," Zack said starting my car and driving away. Some friends. But they've done this to me plenty of times so I don't care anymore. I ran and caught up with the girl.
"Hey listen, I'm sorry about my friends," I apologized.
"It's ok and I'm sorry for snapping at you. I've been having a rough time," She expalined sitting down.
I sat down beside her,"I'm Jason. Jason Scott."
"Kimberly Hart," She replied shaking my hand.
"You know. I feel like I've met you before," I started.
"How? I mean you see me around all the time but you never say anything," Kimberly replied.
"I don't know. You just seem very familiar," Kimberly took her ponytail down and combed through her hair with her fingers.
"Well I don't know what you're talking about," She replied putting on her heavy jacket. The weird thing is that it's a million degrees out here.
"Aren't you worried about getting home?" She asked breaking the awkward silence.
"Nah. I know where Zack lives. He usually leaves the car keys in the ignition. What about you? We can get my car and I can take you home," I replied.
She smiled a little bit,"I'd like that. But I don't wanna go home. Lets just drive."
"Ok lets go get my car," I smiled helping her up as we walked towards the direction of Zack's house and getting my car.
It wasn't but 4:00 when we reached Zack's house where my car was parked in the driveway. He was probably making out with Trini.
"Won't they know that you took the car?" Kimberly asked.
"It's my car. They wont care. But they will when I don't pick them up tonight," I replied. She smiled as she climbed into the front seat of the red convertable. I got in and started the car and backed out of there driveway.
"So Miss Hart. Where would you love to go?" I asked.
She giggled,"Anywhere but my house."
We drove around Angel Grove a bit when it soon went from 4:00 to 6:00 and the sun was setting. Kimberly looked depressed. I had no idea why she seemed like she was having a great time.
"Hey you ok?" I asked.
"No. It's late. I need to get home," She said. She was shaking and a stray tear fell from her eyes.
"To your parents?" I asked.
"No. I live with Jake. he was my ex boyfriend. My parents abandonded me. I got emancipated so that I could be on my own freely without having to be adopted," She replied wiping her tear.
"Oh my gosh. Kimberly I'm sorry. Here. I'll talk to Jake if you'd like me to," I replied.
"NO! I mean. He won't mind. He's probably asleep," She replied.
"Ok," I said backing up and following her directions to a tore down house. I felt bad for her and I wanted her to come live with me at my apartment.
"Thank you Jason. Bye," She said waving and opening the car door.
"Hey whenever we see each other we could talk or something. Will that be ok?" I asked.
"Sorry. I don't know how you're popular friends will react," Kimberly replied.
"I don't care about what my friends think," I said. She smiled and got out of the car.
"We'll see," She smiled walking inside.I watched her and didn't started the car back up until I heard her door close. But I could help but think that I've seen her before.
