Random reviewer: "Startix, where did you get all this Zelda?"
Startix [whispering]: It doesn't belong to me. :3
Midna let out a soft little yawn as she burrowed her head more into Link's lap. Her sunset-colored hair fell across her dozing face, which, to Link, made her look all the cuter.
He always relished these times when the little imp was asleep. When he didn't have to suffer through her constant nagging, her pulling on his ears when he was in wolf form or worse; her...'teasing'...
Smiling, the blonde ran a hand down her slender arm. She was smooth and silky to the touch, and her skin shone like a gem in the pale moonlight streaming through the inn window. She shifted some, but her eyes didn't open.
'She's so adorable when she's like this...' he thought, brushing some hair from her face. She sneezed lightly, a barely audible 'yip' of a sound and twitched her nose, resting back into the swordsman's lap. He had to bite his tongue to not squeal in delight at her cuteness.
He ran his hand along her back, surprised at how toned it was, compared to the rest of her relatively pudgy body. He snickered, knowing that if he called her pudgy to her face, she'd blush, retort "I'm pleasingly plump!" and try to punch him.
Suddenly becoming very brave, Link leaned in close to the imp's ear, gently brushing her cheek with his finger. "Midna...I know you're asleep and you can't hear me right now...but I don't think I'll ever work up the nerve to say this again. So...here goes." Gathering up enough courage to make the Triforce on the back of his hand glow, he said the words he had kept inside for so long.
"I love you."
Of course, there was no response from the Twili girl. He smiled sadly and leaned back, resting his head against his pillow, dreamland awaiting his return.
"So, what? You're not even gonna cop a feel?"
A general rule of thumb is that when you're confessing to the asleep girl you love, make sure she's ACTUALLY asleep. Or the results could be very, well…hilarious~
