"Lights will guide you home... and igni-i-i-ite your bones, and I will try... to fix you."
The New Directions drew the melody to a close, eyes lowered, hands shaking.
Finn coughed quietly, stepping out of line. "Great job guys," he said. He smiled a little as the rest of his group stepped into the wings with quiet murmurs and comforting words.
Kurt was the first to get off stage, shivering arms enclosing his own waist. "Are you okay baby?" Blaine murmured, resting a hand on his shoulder-blade. The brunette nodded quietly, turning to throw his arms around his boyfriend's neck. The younger teenager's eyes widened, but he put his arms around Kurt and rubbed his back gently. His fingers worked circles into his back and shoulders, working their magic to relieve the taller boy of his tension. "What's wrong?" he whispered, ignoring all the looks and whispers that the rest of the New Directions were giving them.
Kurt shook his head into Blaine's shoulder, biting back his tears. "Th-that song is disgusting," he growled.
The raven raised an eyebrow, but continued to rub at his back. "Why is it disgusting?"
"'Fix You?'" Kurt demanded, "It implies... we all need 'fixing...' that we're broken, and w-we're wrong." Blaine sighed, running his fingers over his boyfriend's hair. (He couldn't risk messing up that impeccable 'do.)
"What's going on, Kurt? I know it's not just the song, baby, I know you..."
Most of the boys had looked away by that point, and all the girls were too caught up gossiping. "Rachel's running f-for president, I've only got Krupke, Karofsky's coming back to Lima in two weeks, and you and Rachel..."
Blaine sighed again. "Rachel's an idiot for going against you, I know you can get into N.Y.A.D.A., we've faced him together before, we can do it again, and I'm in love with you. It's just for the play." He chuckled, heavy at heart, but he would do anything for the boy in his arms.
Kurt clung to him and shook with a teary chuckle. The raven pushed him an arm's-length away, their eyes meeting. If they were alone, they would kiss. Of course they would, but they weren't.
"Dude, you can kiss 'im if you want to," Puck said to Blaine. "Seriously, relieve us of the-" Finn clamped a hand over his mouth.
Blaine chuckled shyly, looking up at his boyfriend. In his eyes he saw a silent confirmation. 'Yes, you can kiss me.'
So, even with Kurt's wet, tear-streaked cheeks and slightly red eyes, the raven pressed their lips together shyly. All of the girls' eyes were on them quite suddenly, and all the boys looked... transfixed. Blaine rose his hand to his boyfriend's cheek, intensifying the touch for just a few moments before drawing away.
"Wow. Maybe you are dating," said Puck with a smirk. The couple he had so sweetly nicknamed 'Klaine' ignored him, brushing their noses together.
"Baby, you're amazing," Blaine whispered against his boyfriend's lips, "Stop thinking that... N.Y.A.D.A won't accept you, or that the students body won't pick you, or that I'm gonna leave you for some girl."
"Hey, that's my girlfriend you're tal-" Puck clamped his hand over Finn's mouth, dragging him into a conversation with the rest of the boys.
"You dated her you know..." Kurt rested his head on the raven's shoulder, smiling in a monotonous way.
"One date does not count as dating!"
"You made out with her," the brunette retorted against his ear.
"While drunk!" Blaine cried defensively.
Kurt grinned. He knew he could win their little argument. "You slapped her ass repetitively."
"The Rachel Berry house-party train-wreck extravaganza."
Blaine sighed and hid his head in his boyfriend's neck. "I'm sorry I drank that night... but, my point remains. Maybe... three kisses for five- six performances won't make me fall out of love with you, Kurt Hummel."
The brunette slid his arms around his boyfriend's waist, and hummed a little. Blaine rubbed circles into his shoulders, "I love you," he whispered against his ear.
"I love you too," Kurt whispered, trying not to cry. The younger teenager pulled him in, close as he could. "I love you too," he repeated, hiding his face in Blaine's neck. "I love you, too..."
