Hermione looked at the man in front of her and kissed him lightly.
"I'm sorry it has to end," she whispered. "But no one can find out about this. I love Ron, Rose and Hugo too much for that."
"You could tell them," he said earnestly.
"You don't need me like I need you, then," he said.
"I need you in my life," she responded. "But I'll just have to deal with it. I can't cheat on Ron anymore. Rose—she's getting married tomorrow. This would tear her it apart."
"You're right," a clear voice said. "It would tear me apart."
Hermione turned. "Rose?" she asked.
The young redhead's eyes were shimmering with tears, and her pulse roared in her ears.
"You've been cheating on Dad?" she sobbed.
Hermione walked to her daughter and could see her damp cheeks. She tried to envelope her daughter in a hug, but Rose stepped back.
"You aren't my mother," she said.
She ran out into the street, where the rain was sprinkling down, the pavement dark and wet with it.
Hermione stared as her only daughter left her life, possible forever.
The wedding bells rang as Rose Weasley started up the aisle on her father's arm. Only three people knew why her mother was missing from the wedding, and they were Rose herself, Lily Potter, the maid of honor, and Scorpius Malfoy, the groom. The rest of the Weasleys, Potters, and Lupins tried to find her, to no avail. Especially Ron Weasley and Hugo Weasley, who had not yet heard of the affair.
"Do you, Scorpius Malfoy, take Rose Weasley to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"And do you, Rose Weasley, take Scorpius Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy kissed, and Hermione Weasley slowly faded from everyone's minds.
Well then. That sucked. So, Hermione and McLaggen. And I had to add Rose&Scorpius. :)
I don't own HP!
Please, review, even if you just want to say Hermione and McLaggen is a terrible pairing. I agree.
This is for "No One Can Ever Find Out About this Challenge" on HPFC.
