Author's Note: Hi guys! *waves* It's me, Brightstar, or better known as PurplePythonStudios! :3 Yeah, I decided to write a story about Meta Knight's past. Most people refer to some of the characters by their Japanese given name, but personally, I like the 4Kids version better (call me crazy xD). So Tiff = Fumu and Tuff = Bun.
This is my first story, so NO FLAMES *death stare*
Secret of the Swordsman
Kirby looked around, his gaze slightly confused. Where was he? Kirby began to walk forwards, but the sound of footsteps stopped him. A bead of sweat formed on the head of the young Star Warrior as he looked around wildly. Kirby felt warm breath on the back of his neck (if he had one). He looked over his shoulder wearily. Kirby saw that behind him stood a cloaked figure. It was slightly familiar. Kirby watched in horror as the figure removed the cloak, revealing large bat wings. Kirby squealed in panic when he recognized Meta Knight.
Meta Knight chuckled softly. He raised something above Kirby's head, and it began to turn bright gold. Kirby could only watch, frozen to the spot, as Meta Knight brought the gleaming object down upon him.
Kirby woke with a start. He felt himself sweating slightly. Bright morning light shone through the branches of the oak he slept in. Realizing that it had only been a dream, the pink puffball sat up. He leapt down from the tree and made his way to the castle to find Tiff and Tuff. When Kirby reached the castle, he noticed that the drawbridge was still down. The brainless Waddle Dees always left it down, and no matter how many times Escargoon lectured them about it, the little creatures had never understood.
"Hey! Where ya goin', pipsqueak?" A rather high pitched voice called. Kirby turned around to see Tokkori. The yellow bird floated down and landed on Kirby's head.
"Poyo!" Kirby piped happily. Tokkori never understood what the heck Kirby was saying, but he could guess pretty well.
"Your going to see Tiff and Tuff?" The little bird guessed correctly. Kirby nodded his head enthusiastically, nearly knocking Tokkori off of his head.
"Hey, Junior! Watch it!" Tokkori cried out indignantly. He fluttered off of Kirby's head and in to the trees, not even bothering to say good-bye. Kirby shrugged it off and waddled across the bridge. He passed the castle knights' rooms and stopped when he heard voices. He peered in curiously. Meta Knight stood in the center of the room with Blade and Sword standing next to him.
"What is it you wanted to tell us, Sir?" Blade asked politely. Meta Knight sighed and looked down mournfully. His eyes turned green.
"I have something I must tell you, but you must promise not to tell anyone.Understand?" The two knights' attitude grew serious. Something wasn't right. "I have kept a secret from everyone for far too long, and I feel like I must tell someone." Meta Knight looked up. "Can I trust you two?" Sword and Blade nodded.
"Of course you can." Sword stated. Meta Knights gaze traveled to the floor once more. He took a deep breath and his cape transformed into bat wings.
Kirby gasped and took a step back. Meta Knight looked exactly like the monster in his nightmare.
Sword and Blade gasped slightly. Blade even took a step back.
"I was created by Nightmare, destined to be the greatest monster ever. I did what I was told, until I met the Star Warriors." Meta Knight explained sorrowfully. "I began to hate working for NME, so I ran away. I joined the Star Warriors, but not many of them accepted me." He looked up. "Some of them hated me, some of them didn't trust me, and most of them hated me. After I was sent with Garlude to retrieve Galaxia, the Star Warriors were defeated and I was the only one left. So I came here to Dreamland and never told anyone of my origins." Meta Knight looked up at his two shocked followers, waiting for them to say something.
Kirby didn't want to see anymore. He darted down the hall to Tiff and Tuff's room. He pounded on the door. Tiff answered the door groggily.
"Who's there?" She asked. She looked down to see Kirby. "Oh, it's you, Kirby. Come on in." Tiff stepped away from the door to let Kirby in.
"Poyo!" Kirby cried. He stayed rooted to the spot, refusing to budge. He pointed towards Meta Knight's room. "Poyo!"
"Huh?" Tiff looked confused. She looked down the hall and gasped in horror. But she didn't see what Kirby meant. Instead, she saw a gigantic red dragon. One thing stuck out, however. It had the insignia of Nightmare Enterprises.
