Yay, FAIRY TAIL! I sincerely hope both of them are in character, or else I'm gonna feel like an idiot. Just saying.
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail... Obviously.
Some people considered this 'breaking and entering', Natsu on the other hand considered this an everyday routine. Climbing through Lucy's window was every bit ordinary as drinking a glass of orange juice in the morning.
"Lucy!" He called.
No answer. He finished getting his leg through the window frame and scanned the room. It was dark, well past dinnertime, and there was barely any light save for the candle lit on Lucy's desk, where the former was currently taking a short nap, pen limply held in hand, and paper resting underneath her cheek.
The candle cast a soft shadow across her face, illuminating her cheekbones, and flushed face from the warmth the candle provided. Her soft breathing rustled some of the pages underneath her.
Natsu grinned, typical Lucy falling asleep whilst writing her novel. The fire mage bent over, picking up some of the manuscript pages which had fallen on the floor. He messily placed the on her desk, not thinking to tidy them up, and shook Lucy's shoulder.
At first his response was a muffled groan, and Lucy burying her head further into the makeshift pillow she made of her arms.
"Lucy, c'mon, wake up." Natsu encouraged, shaking her shoulder once again. The blonde groaned again, not appreciating being waken up from her short lived nap.
"Natsu, away." Were her only words before she moved her head away from him.
The teenager sighed; a sleepy Lucy was difficult to deal with. "At least move to your bed," he said exasperated, "or else you're gonna be sore."
"You so do, weirdo."
"Go to bed."
Lucy grumbled picking her head up and looking through half-closed eyelids at Natsu. His face barely visible from the candle lit next to her.
"But, I'm tired," she complained, her eyelids beginning to shut closed, her body overriding her conscious efforts to at least maintain eye contact with her best friend.
"I know you are, but you'll be even more tired when you sleep here."
A sigh racked her body; Lucy hated it when Natsu was sensible.
"Ugh, I can't even move." The celestial mage whimpered, her head beginning to retreat into the confines of her arms.
"No, no, no, Lucy, don't fall back asleep!" Natsu shouted, trying to keep the blonde awake so that she could get to her bed.
"But Natsu! Just lemme sleep here, I'll be fine."
"No you won't, c'mon."
"I'm too tired."
Her head effectively hit her arms, snuggling into the warmth they provided. "Just leave me here for two minutes and then I'll move." She mumbled into her tangled limbs.
"Lucy, you weirdo, quit it."
"Can you just carry me?" Lucy whined.
"Well, if it saves me from your wrath tomorrow, I guess." Natsu replied, scooting the chair out from underneath the desk, Lucy obediently following. The dragon slayer then scooped her up into his arms, her head resting gently on his shoulder.
He walked over to her bed, effectively avoiding any and all furniture in his path, and laid her down amongst the pillows and blankets. Her blonde hair fanned across the fabrics, and her eyes gazed up at him.
"Thanks," she muttered, offering a small smile of appreciation.
Natsu grinned at her, ready to make his leave for the night, when Lucy gripped his arm. The fire mage looked down in alarm at his best friend.
"Don't leave, you're too warm." She said softly, wrapping her small fingers around his wrist.
He smiled and lay down on the bed next to her. She snuggled closer to her heat source, Lucy's head burying in his chest, a better makeshift pillow than her arms had been previously. Natsu instinctively wrapped his arms around her small frame, bringing her all the more closer.
I hope you enjoyed, and don't forget to review! :)
